So my party has been stomping through Runeforge at a pretty quick pace. Wrath, Greed and Pride have all been cleaned out in short order, but they just got their butts kicked in Lust and *barely* got away (they killed the stone giants, but that's it). Delvahine even pursued them into the main hall. The party was fleeing toward Pride until she caught up to them, and then they dimension door'd into Wrath. And Delvahine knows this because the party's Oracle (tongues) shouted in Celestial "Take us to Wrath!"
The party used the Master Circle to escape, but now they're talking about taking a week of game time to make items and have someone read the Charisma tome they found in Pride. Based on Vraxeris's journal, I (and the party) know that Delvahine was close with Vraxeris, but had also allied with Azaven and Ordikon against the Abjurant Halls. Since the party seems to represent an even bigger threat, I'm imagining she'll ally with Azaven and possibly Jordimandus.
Part of me feels like I'm being overly harsh, but the other part of me thinks they're being morons for assuming that nothing will change after they killed half the people in there, all of which have very high Intelligence scores.
Any suggestions?

That seems totally legitimate to me, especially if they're taking a week off in the middle.
I'd just have the alliance be Azaven and Delvahine, though. Jordimandus... just doesn't seem like he'd do much. At best he'd explain how the master circle works so the others can booby-trap it.
Unless the PCs were meticulous about destroying bodies, Delvahine has a great bargaining chip: unfettered access to corpses. Which plays into how the complex will probably look when they come back.
As long as they alliance holds, they even have access to the Runeforge pool. So it could actually get pretty bad for the PCs if they keep delaying.
Cheers!

Thanks. I had figured Jordimandus would cast a planar binding and send whatever he conjured to be part of the alliance, but I like your idea of booby-trapping the master circle.
And they have been grabbing a couple bodies (Athroxis, Ordikon), but there are about 200 Vraxeris bodies available to Azaven now ;)

If my party did this (and they're about to enter Runeforge, so it could happen), I would have no problem with some of the inhabitants of Runeforge allying against the invaders. I would let them have a free week of preparation without the enemy taking advantage of that time as well.
