When does this board get renamed to "D&D 5th Edition (and Beyond)"?
-The Gneech
Probably never. 5e is "beyond" 4th edition, so it still fits. If its renamed "5e and beyond" you would need to make a new, separate board for 4e as its no longer covered by any other board.
If anything, they may just make a new 5e board. But I doubt it - this isn't a D&D website. We should just be happy that have a D&D section at all.

So, where's the pre-3rd edition D&D forum? "Other RPGs?" Of course, there isn't really any talk about pre-3rd edition D&D, except in the form of OSR. I don't even think Wizards of the Coast has a subforum for pre-3rd edition that isn't just "Other".
Been going through 1st and 2nd edition AD&D pdfs that a friend sent me on a dvd (which I will assume he scanned himself), and has been making me desire some AD&D sessions.
But as the others said, it's 4th edition (and beyond). It has just been focused on 5th edition lately since that's the newest edition from them, and people are receiving it much better than they did 4th edition. At least, quite a lot of them anyway.

Adjule - have you looked at my recent PVQ recruitment? 5e, with a lot of 1e house rules
PVQ recruitment? I don't look much at the online games recruitment forum, as the majority are pbp, which I despise greatly. They move so slowly and hardly ever last, which is a shame. Of course, my activity cycle exaserbates the slowness. But, if you could give a link?

Well, it has a couple of the things you've identified that you do not like, it's PbP, and it will probably be slow. All I can say with any certainty is that it will last, as long as I am alive, and am allowed to access this site, it will last (take a look at my Pathfinder PVQ game!).
but even though it probably isn't something you would like, I am still looking for a sixth player
Palace of the Vampire Queen, 5e Retro Style
we have a Human barbarian, a halfling monk, a halfling wizard, a Dwarf fighter, and a dwarf cleric

Ah, sorry. As for any feedback: I never played 1st edition except for a single session in which my wizard was trying to get a book out of a fountain or pond, which happened to have been just a reflection and the book was actually on the ceiling.
Not sure how I feel about the turns rules. I don't really remember much of anything combat-wise (other than being the only one in the group that really understood THAC0) from 2nd edition, either. Your other rules I don't really see a problem with. I personally prefer the negative hp over the death saves. I am just so used to the "1 round = 6 seconds" ruling. Maybe if I had more than 2 years with barely any playtime of experience with 2nd edition, I could comment more on getting the older feel that way.
Since I prefer to stay away from play-by-post, I hope you are having luck with your Palace of the Vampire Queen game.
