Does it exist yet are there potion recipes what trainers give starter recipes? I did do a search but could not find this info

Alchemy exists at the Alchemist.

You can make Potions there as well.

Thank you I went to the trainer there trained then went to the building and there was only one recipe is that the trainer that gives you recipes?

There is likely a single recipe gained at the first level of skill. Some recipes will be gained automatically as your skill goes up. Other recipes will be found as drops from NPC monsters, so will be found by the alchemist, or bought from another player who finds them.

I appreciate that but I was hoping to hear from somone who can confirm it from experience with alchemy specifically. Just trying to figure out if it's in the game enough to be a worthwhile starting craft or secondary class. :-)

It is the same for all classes, also you can just look at the spreadsheets, I can tell you every single recipe on the Alchemists list.

After the patch here is what you get:

Apprentice's Sunrod
Apprentice's Resistance
Apprentice's Bodybalm

If you find the level 1 Uncommons:

Apprentice's Antiplague
Apprentice's Antitoxin
Apprentice's Bloodblock
