Integrating S&S into RoTR

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

New to this game. I've purchased everything in RoTR and my group is waiting on the Class Decks before we start the adventure path. I'm wondering if it is worth also getting S&S+Add-On and using the characters in that in RoTR, or if it would be too cumbersome adding the additional items into the base game (the ship specific items for example would be a little underwhelming). In one of the interviews with Mike, I liked how the S&S game required you to diversify your character a little more and I want to bring some of the positive things from S&S into RoTR...

You can use the characters out of S&S in rise of the rune lords and that is about it as far as playing a normal game goes. Of coures its your game and you can play it any way you want but for standard play its just the charaters.

If you want to add cards then take them from the class decks. Assuming that is you are not taking part in organised play in which case you might want to keep them with the character.

I think personally if I were you, I would get Skull & Shackles and play the other characters in THAT instead. Only because, it's got a higher level of difficulty, and it'll make your experience players work harder to win.

If you have not yet played RotR on its own, I would start there before deciding to mix in components from other sets.

If you don't know or understand what you're trying to fix, you'll probably end up breaking it more.

You can legally and easily port over any character you desire.

Just don't play the characters that are too reliant on things like "Aquatic," "Swashbuckling," or ships.
