Merisiel Dex / Ranged question

Hi all,

We just started playing Merisiel and have a rather huge question for the future of her combat once she eventually becomes an Acrobat/Thief:

The bottom Power Feat of Acrobat/Thief says: When you play a blessing to add to your Dex check, you may recharge it instead of discarding it.

If Merisiel is using something like a Crossbow to make a Ranged Combat check, she is obviously using her Dex Die...BUT, does that necessarily make it also a "DEX-check"...could she Recharge a Blessing as an Acrobat for huge rechargeable damage?

Yup. Blessings care about whatever the base die is. Merisiel can recharge a blessing on her Dex-based Combat check just like she could for her Disable and Acrobatics checks.

If you read it carefully it states, "to your dexterity check", and the crossbow states, "For your combat check". So while you are using your Dexterity dice for the check with the crossbow, it is still a combat check and not a Dexterity check.

You are mistaken there. See this post for a more detailed explanation on figuring out what type of check something is. Merisiel playing a bow on a combat check indeed makes it a Dexterity check as well.
