Looking For GM for Odd-Hours Online Game of Pathfinder

Recruitment

Hi all, my first time posting on here.

As the title says, I am looking for someone who could GM an online game of Pathfinder at odd hours in the PST/GMT-8 time zone.

To shed a little insight on why i'm looking for a GM, well, work schedules are awful for me and my fiance. The one consistent time we DO have off are either early morning or late evening\night (earliest starting time, 9:45-10pm PST/GMT-8.) Unfortunately, most people have day jobs or school that would make either of those times impossible! So I've been at a loss for what to do about our gaming social lives being obliterated by our crappy work shifts...

.. and that's why I'm posting this listing! We're both experienced with the Pathfinder system, older, polite, fun and especially creative! I realize most online games tend to be shaky and prone to falling apart but we're both very dedicated to anything we get involved with. We would be the last people to leave a game or not show up on time.

Now, why do I not run a game myself at these times? Unfortunately most of our friends are also not available at those kind of hours! On top of that, both of us have been running games back to back over the last year and a half, but have not been able to play in one together as players. I have been trying my best to find a game on other sites but I have found little that our available times could work with.

So, I ask you all and hope that two wonderful players could find someone willing to throw them a bone or two. And thank you in advance for anyone reading this or replying to it.

What type of gaming avenue are you looking for? Something like Roll20, where people meet at a virtual table but all at the same time, or maybe play by post, where the players post when they have time? Also Pathfinder Society or just a campaign using the Pathfinder setting and/or system?

Ah, I forgot to specify that. Roll20 would be nice and we've gotten familiar with it over the last couple of months. As for PFS or just PF, I think we're up for either, though would prefer a normal Pathfinder setting/system campaign.

Might work out better for you to include Roll20 in the title of your inquiry. Unfortunately that's the one I can't help with. I've been GMing Pathfinder Society for nearly a year now and have been running online tables through these forums via Play by Post.

The good points of PbP are that you can play when you have the chance and you can have ample time to consider your actions without holding up the play. I think it leaves a lot more room for character development and role-play (as opposed to when we only roll-play). Play can be more immersive since you aren't looking at the player while trying to imagine the character instead.

The potential drawbacks are that it takes several weeks to get through a scenario and it might be harder to keep the details and clues fresh in your mind. Fortunately, since everything is posted on the forum, you can always refer back, but some people really prefer the continuity of a face to face game. Those who don't enjoy reading and writing will likely find it harder to get into, but the amount that you write is certainly up to you.

Anyway, there's my PbP spiel. If you decide to give it a shot I could include you and your spouse in my next PbP game. Good luck finding a game!
