Switching Deities when you have a Religious Trait for a specific deity

What happens if you have a specific trait tied to a diety, and you want to switch deities for some reason. Does that trait become inactive with no way to change it?

It kinda does, but the problem with retraining is, there is no precedent for retraining Religion traits and the like, only Racial traits
