Also, it's looking like the boy might have finally caught the cold everyone else has had.
Just in time for him to maybe miss his first day back at Mother's Day Out.
And for me, it's back to the grind.
No big feast on Labor Day but Sunday was pulled pork carnitas with Mexican rice and guacamole.
Tonight will be grilled chicken Alfredo pizzas (I think). I still need to work in my charcoal control for an even heat for the dough to grill properly.
I love my grill and use it a lot more these days. But I've gone natural gas. It was logical, though, since the house came with the outlet already piped to the back patio.

And I've got a meeting on the other side of town later this morning, as well as a a metric crap ton of stuff to get done.
Busy, yet productive day, yesterday. Hoping I can keep the streak alive.

Smarmy little a#%*$@# from the construction team got the smack down from a BP guy in our meeting yesterday. I only enjoyed it a crapton.
And I made up the hour I lost from the Labor Day holiday. We only get 8 for a holiday, and my schedule is 9 hour days Monday through Thursday, so if the holiday falls on any day other than Friday I have to make up the extra hour.
Done and done!
Weird end to the workday, yesterday. Power went out for about 45 minutes or so. Although it eventually came back on, we didn't get our network back. So there was a struggle to find non-computery things to do.
Today the network is back. So I have things which should have been completed yesterday to get done today.
Happy Friday to one and all.
Watching Cars with the boy. A nice quiet Sunday so far.
Methinks I shall go in search of honey today. Not to buy. But to seek out.
Oh yes, I shall seek it out.
Commercials for young children are very annoying.

And...finally! This was a free weekend for HBO on Cinemax, and I was finally able to DVR Pacific Rim. I shall be watching it tonight.
Also, there was mass death this weekend.
Finally got some new brown work shoes. Very nice. My old ones are still structurally sound, but cosmetically they were in bad shape.

Yesterday morning, on my drive to work, my headlights went off again. Finally took it upon myself to just fix it on my own. Googled the issue and found several articles, videos showcasing the problem. Apparently, it's a well known issue.
So, one $40 relay and about 10 minutes of total effort (including opening a can of beer) and it's hopefully fixed. I'll know after a few days or weeks. The problem was intermittent to begin with.
While I was out that way I stopped in at Walmart and picked up Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Agents of SHIELD Season One on bluray. Also picked up the 40th anniversary bluray of Young Frankenstein, another Mel Brooks classic.
Last night, around midnight-30, the boy shows up in our room all scared and s%!&. So I reassured him he was safe, brought him back up to his room, and put him in bed.
This morning, as I came out to leave for work, I found him curled up asleep on the sofa. Went to put a cover on him and he woke up, so I led him to our bedroom and told him he could sleep in daddy's spot.

My father in law is back for another visit. Got here yesterday. Will leave sometime today. The reason for so many visits is he brought a gun to a repair guy here in Houston for some work.
But the boy loves his visits. And that makes me happy.
At the moment, however, they all went to breakfast. I was still in bed - right up until the moment they closed the door. Now, in the words of Chiun.....

Caught on the last hour or so of I, Robot last night. While I know it's nowhere near matching the literature it's based on, I still enjoy the movie and find it to be one of Will Smith's better performances. It's one of those flicks I can watch over and over again.
The silence....she is ended.
Ah well, smiling happy baby is a good alternative.
