Not much planned for today beyond that face to face interview later this afternoon.
And sometime this evening I've got to drop off some Eagle Scout documentation at the house of another adult leader. This is the dude who works down at the council headquarters. Makes it much easier for me. He goes down there anyway, and lives less than 10 minutes from my house (depending on traffic conditions).
The only sucktastic part about that interview this afternoon is that I'll probably get caught up in traffic on the way home. Ugh!
Still, if they offer me the job, I will accept. If only to tide me over until I can find something else.
Interview went well. I might actually have that job. We shall see.
And then, like a dumbass, I forgot to bring the Eagle documentation over to the dude’s house. It’s not that big of a deal, but it bugs me that I forgot.
Cool! Watching the Spider-Noir show, and Andrew Robinson shows up. Among other roles, he was the Scorpio Killer in the original Dirty Harry movie.
My daughter was quite thrilled about being out of school for the summer.
Swatting is a cowards attack. Anyone who engages in it is the lowest form of scum.
Ye gods! More Shrek movies! I thought there was a law against cruel and unusual punishment.
Ok…so, Spider-Noir. Very quirky. A little weird. Somewhat noir. Overall, entertaining. My only real wish is that they had included a bit more CGI to pump up the super hero action. Otherwise….not too bad.
Well, it IS the first full day with both children home from school. So the chances of it being "happy" are...maybe not quite slim.
A small toddler is the closest thing you can have to a Pokémon. It follows you around, you love it dearly, no one else can understand what it's saying, and it is obedient only when it wants to be. The main difference is that training it to fight other toddlers is frowned upon.
You're one in a million. That means there are over 300 of you in the United States. Find yourself. Start an army. Overthrow the government of a small midwestern town.

Morality is doing what is right, regardless of what everyone else is doing.
If masculinity were truly toxic, then kids growing up without dads would be better off than those who have them. However, they are not. They tend to be more depressed, aggressive, and criminal.
When bad people are doing bad things in the world....nobody calls Russia or China.
He who lives without capitalism among you, let him cast the first smart phone.
Doctor: You failed your drug test.
Patient: I had a poppyseed bagel for breakfast.
Doctor: Explain the weed and cocaine.
Patient: It was an everything bagel.
An update on the robot wolves being used in Japan to combat the sudden surge in bear attacks and encounters - Apparently the company that makes them is having trouble keeping up with demand.
A veteran astronaut who was part of the SpaceX Crew 11 mission to the ISS was suddenly unable to speak while aboard. They brought him home, and he recovered, but officials won't say what was wrong with him.
Hopefully, he's not turning into an alien.
I see in the news that two more Minnesota residents have been charged in a $21 million Medicaid fraud scheme. Lovely.
Sooo....
Over in California, it's being reported the state spent $24 million on Native American drum circles, indigenous fire rituals, and helping tribes maintain "close kinship" with nature. Only problem is the funding apparently came from the fire management fund.
Props to whomever in the White House put out that tribute to Harambe on the 10th anniversary of his death. The world has not been the same without him.
There was this damn cool video of an erupting volcano in the Philippines. Suddenly, a meteor comes flying down, burning up before it could strike just behind the volcano. Then it gets really bizarre. A small light can be seen in the video rising from behind the volcano, along the path taken by the meteor.
Probably some kind of fake, but still really cool.
Archaeology news! Archaeologists in Sweden made a "highly unusual" discovery buried inside an ancient grave monument - two rare neck rings estimated to be over 2,500 years old.
Huh! Apparently, there has been speculation for years about secret underground tunnels and bunkers beneath Denver International Airport. Now the airport officials are actually opening some of the "secret tunnels" converting them into passenger walking paths between terminals. Someone joked the passengers may have to fight lizard men along the way.
Hyundai is planning to bring in Boston Dynamics' Atlas Robots to work alongside humans in their care factories. Georgia will probably be first.
How long before an "accident" marks the beginning of the robot uprising?!?
