I wonder how many people read my posts and think "I hope he's getting psychiatric help."

Scarab Sages

Fun fact!

Wind chimes are made from the metallic bones of robots that tried to overthrow us. Hang them outside your house as a waring to the others.

That crazy story from the Denver airport! Dude got onto the runway and was hit by a plane during takeoff. That had to be...messy.

In Alabama, some fire fighters were battling a house fire. Suddenly, a dude came running up to them with a newborn in his arms. Turns out, the guy's niece had just given birth nearby, and they needed help. So the fire fighters went into additional action.

Over in Sterling, Michigan, a 19 year old woman miraculously walked away from a car accident with only a few bruises. Some drunk practically split her car in two.

The Retail Council of Canada put out a report stating that grocery theft is almost $10 billion per year. I'd hate to see what it is here in the USA.

I want to visit the new state of Virgnia and meet with its Sentator. Perhaps we could discuss some learing opportunities.

Good lord! It seems the creator of TikTok proposed using crowdfunding to purchase Spirit Airlines and make it "owned by the People". A bunch of idiots have apparently helped him raise over $335 million in pledges already.

Uh huh! And I've got a bridge I can sell them pretty cheap. This from the people who probably think they're smarter than everyone else.

"My ambition is to change this country" is just a more polite way to say "turn it into a commie hell hole". I will never forgive the people of NYC.

A bank teller in Chicago hung up on Pope Leo. Apparently, he called to change some account information, and she told him it could only be done in person. When he tried to explain who he was, she thought he was joking and hung up.

Archaeology news! An intact Roman grave was discovered in eastern Croatia. It was brick lined, which I find interesting. The grave did not have much in the way of artifacts, however. They think the skeleton is that of a 40-50 year old dude.

Anyway....not much going on today. Even though it's Mother's Day, we're not going anywhere or doing anything special. My wife seems to prefer anything where she doesn't have to leave the house. Dinner will be beef kabobs.

Scarab Sages

Maybe it's just me, but if you're going to write articles about comic books, you should at least get your facts straight. Some idiot over at CBR wrote about the new Bat-suit that "debuted" in the most recent issue of Batman/Static Beyond.

Yeah, that suit actually debuted a few issues earlier, ya damn moron.

Scarab Sages

Seriously, I could do a better job than most of these douchenozzles. I'd probably hurt to many precious feelings though.

Here’s looking at Euclid!

Not sure if I mentioned this, but the boy got his Learner’s Permit this past Thursday. So he can down drive a car as long as another licensed driver over the age of 21 is in the front passenger seat.

There are other rules, of course. I believe he’s got to get X number of hours in for both day and night driving. There may be a distance of driving requirement, but I’m not sure off hand. And once he turns 16 I believe he can get his full driver’s license.

Scarab Sages

So….after lunch, he and I hopped in his mother’s car (which is going to be his) and I drove us over to his high school. We used one of the parking lots for him to get his first experience behind the wheel.

He was nervous, naturally. And a little awkward at first. However, I think he handled himself very well for never having been behind a wheel before. He’s still got plenty of work to do, but I told him to be patient. With more practice he’ll get more comfortable.

Scarab Sages

We do have him signed up for a professional driving school, of course. However, I wanted to be the first to teach him. That’s how my father did it with all of us. That’s how I wanted it to be.

Scarab Sages

And now it’s time to relax, enjoy some coffee, and do a bit of reading.

Scarab Sages

And now we wait again. Gnats always show back up.

Scarab Sages

In the meantime, I’ve got kabobs to cook.

Happy Monday?!?

Scarab Sages

Probably more like "adequate" Monday. Mostly because it's f@#$ing Monday. Still, we're getting rain today, which my lawn can make good use of. And the rainy weather has brought cooler temperatures with it. Our high today is only supposed to be around 78 degF. So that'll be a brief respite.

Scarab Sages

On the other hand.... it's f@#$ing Monday.

I'm considering having this be the first day I start searching for non-engineering jobs. However, I truly have no idea where to begin with that. When you've dedicated most of your life to a career which the Universe seems hell bent on denying you, how do you proceed?

F#@k it. I'll figure something out.

One of my older brother's is coming to visit myself and my younger brother this coming weekend. Still not sure what he's up to. Haven't spoken to the younger brother to get his thoughts.

Anyway, I'm not really looking forward to the get together. Not that I dislike either of my brothers. Mostly it's because my younger brother can be a bit obnoxious with how wonderful his life is going and how well-together everything is for him. It's annoying after the first 10 seconds.

We'll probably stay just long enough to eat and have some polite conversation, then make an excuse to depart as quickly as possible.

He was in ecstasy, with a huge smile on his face as his wife moved forward, then backwards, forward, then backwards again, back and forth, back and forth....in and out...in and out.

It was going on 20 minutes at this point...Her heart was pounding...her face was flushed...then she moaned, softly at first, then began to groan louder. Finally, totally exhausted, she let out an almighty scream and shouted: "OK, OK! I can't park the damn car! You do it, you smug bastard!!!"

How to tell if cauliflower is ripe:

1. Who cares?
2. It's cauliflower.
3. You're not going to eat this.
4. Just keep walking.
5. The cookies are on aisle 14.

I don't understand how I can remember every word of a song from 1964, but I can't remember why I walked into the kitchen.

Don't worry! They only want the "good kind" of socialism! Huge government, massive taxes, redistribution of wealth, more "regulations", more bureaucrats, cradle to grave state involvement in your life.

Scarab Sages

Saw a meme from the Babylon Bee: Husband patiently waits until after midnight on Mother's Day to ask wife to change kid's diaper.

It made me laugh, but at my own expense. For the wife's fist Mother's, Day 15 years ago, I promised her I'd change all the diapers. The boy had 9 poopy diapers that day. One of those good deeds that did not go unpunished.

Scarab Sages

Yeah, sorry bartender, but no! The American Revolution was not against the "billionaires of their time". You f@#$ing moron. I'll never forgive the people who put you in office.

Scarab Sages

Some dude from India on a 3 year student visa won a 5 year term in the Scottish Parliament. Ha! That's a funny way to use their own stupid bureaucracy against them. Still a sad day for democracy, though. And Western Civilization.

A great grandmother dropped out of school in the 8th grade (back in 1939) to raise a family and help with money during the great depression. The other day she finally got her high school diploma at the ripe age of 102. Good for her.

Scarab Sages

Hell, seeing news like that makes me think there just might be some hope for me after all. If I can just get the Universe out of the way.
