In the meantime, I supposed I should get some dinner. I'm going to eat healthy and green tonight. Something I should do far more often.
After that, who knows? The wife has a headache, so probably will go to bed early. The daughter did not seem enthused about watching a Harry Potter movie, but did seem intrigued by the offer of popcorn.
Or....I could just end up watching more All of Us Are Dead.
Just for a change of pace, I resume my old optimism and assume today might actually be a "happy one".
After all, the weather is nice again today. Sunshine and cooler than usual. The boy is coming home from his camping trip sometime this morning. I don't have much in the way of chores to do beyond laundry and fixing a toilet.
So...yes. Today has potential.
Then there will be the horror of the coming week...
As for last night...We did end up watching the first Harry Potter movie. THEN I watched more All of Us Are Dead.
So it was a late night. That's okay, though. This morning I got up, took the dog out, and took my medicine. Since the boy wasn't home, and so would not be coming down early, I didn't bother turning my second alarm on and was able to sleep later than usual. Didn't budge again until quarter after 7 am.

Aaaah...Yet another green energy from several years ago screwing over taxpayers. First it was federal taxpayers to get the damned thing built, now it's California taxpayers on the hook to keep it going. All because state regulators refuse to let it die. That despite the current AND previous administrations trying to end it because it was so horrid.

I’m considering removing my son from the High Adventure trip this summer. Depends if I can get my money back or not. It’s pretty clear he doesn’t take the training seriously. Which, sadly, is pretty par for the course with him.
Beyond that, I’m really starting to consider removing him from scouting as a whole. Not because scouting isn’t worthwhile. It totally is, and if more kids were in it this country would be in a better place.
No, I’m considering removing him because he doesn’t care about using scouting to his utmost advantage. He’s basically treating it like it doesn’t mean much. And I’m the only one who tries to get him to encourage him to do better. Getting tired of that, and I’ve got my own problems anyway.
So much for this being a “happy” day.
