We shall see. The rainy weather brought in cooler temps, which are staying for few days after the aforementioned rain has departed. So today should be quite pleasant from a weather standpoint - sunny, with a high in the 70s.

And it's Free Comic Book Day. That can often be fun. It'll mean the comic book store will likely be crowded. So, I'll have to watch my language, but way more people get to experience the joy of...ME!

Scarab Sages

Plus I get to be angry (in a very passive aggressive way) at the people who run the scout shop.

When I say I'm "living the dream", it's usually something along the lines of Elm Street.

When I dip something into sauce, no matter how long I hold it over the bowl it never drips until it's over my shirt.

You're not an intellectual.
You're not an artist.
You're not a critic.
You're not a poet.
You just have internet access.

Parents, how's that home schooling going?

You lied! My kids are not a joy to have in class!

Walmart Clerk: Why are you wearing that mask over your eyes?

Me: The mayor and CDC said to wear it.

Walmart Clerk: They said to wear a mask.

Me: What did the Lone Ranger wear?

Walmart Clerk:

Me:

Walmart Clerk:

Me:

Walmart Clerk: A mask....

Me: Hi you, Silver.

New Orleans first female sheriff has been indicted on 30 counts. This does not surprise me in the least. Louisiana is where other politicians and bureaucrats go to learn how to be properly corrupt.

Damn! The US Geological Survey announced they estimate up to 23 million metric tons of lithium oxide in the Appalachian region. And that's a conservative estimate.

Either way, that's a LOT of batteries.

Some loser got 4 years in prison for swatting politicians and public officials. Good. Although not enough.

Damn! Gas prices are getting really high in California. Close to $9 per gallon in some spots. Glad I live somewhere a bit more sane.

Some 72 year old dude was arrested for hit and run involving a bunch of bicycle riders. Having been on the wrong side of a flock of bike-holes many times, I can sympathize. It's still wrong though.

Well, Joe is right. That slick, used car salesman of a POS is a "f@#king con man". Possibly more so than most politicians.

Anyway...not much planned today beyond my usual Saturday frivolities. Although, as previously mentioned, I am looking forward to my comic book store visit. With it being Free Comic Book Day, I should have lots more people to bring to whom I can bring joy.

Scarab Sages

My older brother texted my younger brother and I last night. He said he was coming to visit us (he lives a few hours away), and asked what would be a good weekend. So that'll be in another two weeks.

Not sure what he wants, but there's definitely a reason other than "visiting my brothers". It's possible he wants to further discuss our mother, a topic brought to the fore again by her most recent ER visit.

One of the most annoying things about getting older....discovering small cuts and scrapes and not having a clue where or when they came from. Just last night I suddenly discovered a small, non-bleeding cut on my left index finger.

There's some other good news....It looks like the latest Disney Star Wars project is on track for the lowest opening of the franchise ever. Sad in some ways, but it's what they deserve. They brought it on themselves.

Much the same can be said for many entertainment companies and people that are in not good financial straits.

Scarab Sages

Before I forget....

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL HARRY POTTER DAY!

Scarab Sages

The wife mentioned that when I got home, so I said we should celebrate by watching a Harry Potter movie this evening.

Scarab Sages

It's turned into a beautiful day, weather-wise. Lots of sunshine, but a nice breeze to keep things cool.

And the traffic gods smiled on my for at least part of it. I had an relatively easy time getting to and from the grocery store. Except for one turn light that's been giving us fits ever since they refurbished the intersection.

It was also a not too bad drive to the scout shop and comic book store. Less so on the way home, but still not horrid.

Scarab Sages

Speaking of the scout shop.....

When I arrived and walked in, I expressed surprise they were open. I explained this to the perplexed young lady as due to them NOT being open (when they should have) on Tuesday. She then counter-explained it was due to a mix up about work schedules, and the store did eventually open (albeit two hours late).

Scarab Sages

And speaking of the comic book store.....

Damn! Was it crowded. Free Comic Book Day, so everyone and their grandma seemed to be visiting. Lots of small humans, so I had to watch my language. Didn't stop me from being obnoxiously loud though. The poor new kid was overwhelmed. She'd never see it that busy before.

There was a nice surprise though. The young gal I used to talk with all the time was working today. She had gone part-time to focus more on the pilates classes she teaches. And she's actually leaving the store for good to be a full-time pilates instructor. She's nervous about that, but I told her I think she'll do fine, and that I was proud of her. I even got a hug.

Scarab Sages

And let me say, I never thought much of pilates, but ever since she started doing that stuff she's looking a lot better. I mean in great physical shape. Not that she was bad before, but now she's looks toned and very healthy.

Anyway, she's a good kid, and I really hope she does well with the pilates thing.

Scarab Sages

When I got home from the comic book store, the first thing the wife says to me is that our daughter was mad at her. Because mom wouldn't drive over to get her Cane's for lunch. So, being the good dad I am, I took her myself.

Scarab Sages

Now it's time for some laundry and reading. I typically do laundry for each kid on Saturday, but we did the boy's Friday morning as prep for his camping trip. So now I'll do the girl's plus maybe a little extra.

Scarab Sages

And now we wait for the turd to cometh.
