Happy Birthday Tom Clancy!
Happy Birthday Tom Noonan!
Happy Birthday Andy Garcia!
Happy Birthday to the late Shannen Doherty!
Well, the boy is returned from another rousing adventure in the wilds. Though not quite home yet. We are waiting for the truck hauling the trailer to return.
Thankfully, it looks like the bad weather is going to hold off a bit longer. Unloading packs and such in the rain is never fun.
Took the opportunity to get some gas in the car while I was on my way to pick him up. Thankfully, I remembered to use the Kroger points to get a discount.
Since the boy was not back yet, I had the daughter help me at the grocery store. Her performance was adequate, but she’s got to work on her steerage a bit more.
Huzzah! The usual Philmont training hike was cancelled for today. Too many people weren’t going to be able to make it. Not to mention, the weather had turned somewhat nasty.
So now I don’t have to leave the house again today. Except, you know, to go out on the back porch.
The wife, however, had agreed to take the boy for a much needed hair cut. After he finishes lunch. And gets a bath. And maybe unpacks some of his dirty clothes from campout.
Thank the gods my old man brain occasionally remembers to remember things. When we were waiting for the troop to get back earlier, one of the parents asked if his scout could get a Board of Review at our next meeting. I told him yes, and that I’d put his scout’s name on my calendar. Which I just did.
Damn! New Mario movie is already over $600 million. So, if the budget information was correct, then it’s already made a good bit of profit. Maybe they should get the people behind that movie to do some DC stuff. Or Marvel.
Ha! So that’s why I was a bit chilled. I forgot to reset the thermostat to its usual daytime setting. Those Nest things aren’t worth a damn. You can thank my wife for that nonsense. She agreed to it when I was at work one day, years ago.
At least the boy is good for something. He distracted the dog and I was able to throw a pillow at her. Usually, I have to wait until she’s sleeping.
Stoopid rain. Made grilling the chicken for dinner a bit more challenging. And damp.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm!
The closest I’ll ever forget to seeing a screen version of Batman: Year Two. Yeah, it’s a ripoff of a vastly superior comic book story, but it’s still highly entertaining.
Probably not. I mean (a) It's Monday, (b) I stayed up too late last night, (c) I slept wrong and aggravated my bad shoulder, (d) It's Monday.
I kind of want to look good in a swimsuit. I kind of want to eat lots of chicken wings. I'm kind of annoyed I have to pick one.
Knowing is half the battle! The other half is extreme violence.

I'm not sure if life is passing me by or trying to run me over.
Living people eat dead mushrooms, but living mushrooms eat dead people.
Stop saying Candy Corn is the worst candy. Don't forget that black licorice exists.
I'm feel like my greatest accomplishment on any given day is not saying what I'm thinking out loud.
Society: Be yourself.
Also Society: No. Not like that.
Your crimes are known. The frog council sits in judgement.
We can do this the easy way or....the United way. Your choice.
A SIGN MY WIFE NEEDS:
Please excuse the mess. My kids are making memories. I suck at being a housewife.
Apparently, California has found itself in the unenviable position of having to ration hydrogen for vehicles with fuel cells. If anyone could figure out a way to run out of one of the most abundant elements on the planet.....
Apparently, Heidi Klum went to Coachella in disguise. I have to wonder....if she had not been in disguise, would people have still recognized her?
Something called "miracle fruit" (Synsepalum dulcificum) is being touted as having the ability to help cancer patients with a chemo side effect. Cool.
I see Britney Spears is back in rehab. Again. That poor pathetic child. It's stories like hers that make you question the sanity of any parent who subjects their child a career in the entertainment industry.
There was an article talking about how current AIs are biased and trying to shape people's world view as if that's something we should be shocked about. They basically are just automating a feature that's typically done manually by the Academic-Infotainment Complex. And before that by religion.
Speaking of Hollywood and it's corrupting influence on the young....
It's always nice to see a reminder of someone who seems to have escaped that particular hell. There was an article about Danica McKellar putting out a new book, and I thought "well, there's one child actor who seems to have made it through relatively unscathed".
Sadly, she's a rarity.
What?!? A filthy commie is resorting to class warfare now that his campaign promises are shown to be so much bulls@#$?!? Say it isn't so!!!
I keep hearing good things about that Crimson Desert game. Maybe I'll play it one day.
The troop is hosting a Merit Badge Saturday coming up. I had signed the boy up for one, but he said he would prefer to go help another scout with his Eagle Project the same day. I'm actually proud of him for choosing to help another, rather than help himself.
And, being the a-hole that I am, I'll be sure to use this against some of the other adult leaders whose scouts are more selfish.
Happy Birthday Thomas Jefferson!
Happy Birthday Joseph Bramah!
Happy Birthday Richard Trevithick!
Happy Birthday James Wimshurst!
Happy Birthday Butch Cassidy!
Happy Birthday Robert Watson-Watt!
Happy Birthday Don Adams! Would you believe...?
Happy Birthday Paul Sorvino!
Happy Birthday Peter Davison!
Happy Birthday Erick Avari!
Happy Birthday Garry Kasparov!
Anyway...not much going on today. Counting the days until my next procedure this Friday.
