Archaeology news!!!
They discovered a 2000 year old pagan temple in Denmark.
Some mother is claiming her Cybertruck nearly drove her and her daughter off a bridge. Hoax? Or Rogue AI?
There was an article about the passing of Matt Clark, a character actor. Once I opened up the article and saw his face, I instantly knew him. I just had never known his name before. He was, as I recall, brilliant in his many roles, among which were Back to the Future II & III, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Trilogy of Terror and Trilogy of Terror II, and The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai.
Rest in Peace.
Woot! Texas for the win (again). The state is hoping to save the day with the Round Top rare-earth deposit!
Happy Birthday Gottlieb Daimler, the German engineer and inventor who designed the first motorcycle.
Happy Birthday Nat King Cole! One of my all-time favorite musicians.

Happy Birthday to Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane and Starship.
Happy Birthday to the great William Gibson! I should go back and read Neuromancer again.

Happy Birthday to Gary Sinise. Not only a wonderful actor, but a great patriot who supports our troops!
Not much planned for today beyond the usual. I've got to go wake the daughter up in a few minutes. Not sure when the wife and boy will get home. Hopefully, they'll be able to provide me with an estimate later today.
I was thinking, as I do on occasion, about the injustice of The Universe. If the Universe were just, Tracy Chapman would be widely known for far more than just two hit songs. She's too magnificent a singer otherwise.
Also, I had to double check what day it was. Someone down the street already had their recycle bin out by the curb. Recycling doesn't get picked up until Thursday, so most folk put it out on Wednesday.
The wife and boy are making good time with their bus trip back. She texted me last night just before 8 pm local time, saying they were about to leave Orlando. And she just texted me about 25 minutes ago saying they were passing through Baton Rouge already, and planned to stop for breakfast in Lafayette.
She keeps saying she can't wait to shower and sleep in her own bed. I just can't wait to get presents. I've got at least two t-shirts I asked for, plus a Dumbledore wand. And hopefully some surprise gift from the monster section of Universal Epic.
Shocking! Lindelof showed his yellow streak after being called out for his Green Lantern dissing by Grant Morrison. Yet again, I find myself happy with Mr. Morrison for bringing about such humiliation of an asshat who richly deserves it.
Huzzah! The wife and son are home. They actually got home a little earlier than initially estimated. So that was nice. They are, of course, both exhausted. The wife more so.
I got cool stuff:
A universal monsters t-shirt
A Dracula t-shirt
A rubber “wooden stake” with Van Helsing initials
A Gryffindor t-shirt
A dark mark t-shirt
A metal Butterbeer goblet
Sadly, I did not get my Dumbledore wand.
The dog went absolutely bat-s&#t crazy when the walked in the door.
Now I’ve got a few minutes until I go pick up the daughter from pottery class. She was already there for camp, and just stayed in between the two.
I suppose it has potential to be. As long as it actually is Wednesday.
It is, right?
I was proud of myself over the weekend for saying no to the PS5. So, of course, over the last two days I completely undid that victory.
I'm also sadly starting to fall into that old trap of applying to jobs I don't actually want and don't really qualify for, just to make it feel like I did something.
Anyway...on to more pleasant things.
It looks like US Navy Fleet Week is coming to Houston this April. As it should. I've never understood why New York gets it. Commie land that it is.
So...not just Minnesota. Looks like Washington State as well. Lots of LEARING going on.
Dude: I'm having trouble logging into a computer.
IT: OK. I'll help. Are you in front of the computer?
Dude: No. Am I supposed to be?
IT: AAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
What if I told you the on-ramp is designed for you to reach the same speed as traffic before you merge?
I'm finding the key to happiness is low expectations.
Lower.
Nope, even lower.
There you go, right at the bottom.
A Series of Unfortunate Events: What life is lately, but with snacks.
March 1876 - Alexander Graham Bell makes the first ever phone call. Moments later, he is notified that his car's extended warranty has expired.
Me: I want 2020 to be like the roaring twenties!
Earth: Alright, infectious disease is spreading.
Me: No, not like that.
Earth: The US stock market is tanking.
Me: Wait....
Earth: LMAO...bars can't be open anymore.
Philosophy originated because of men thinking so deeply trying to figure out why their wives were mad at them they unlocked new ways of interpreting reality.
Aaaaarrrrggghhhh....my wireless charger appears to have stopped working. DANGBLASTIT!!!
Hehehehe...
Remembering that time 6 years ago the kids made a schedule for their day, the last item of which was "attack mom & dad".
Hehehehehehe....(again)
Some Starbucks baristas in Seattle went on strike for 3 months. It seems they finally had to end it because they were going broke. That's when they found out their locations were closing and they weren't eligible to transfer to new locations.
Aaahh...karma.
Humanoid robots on the battlefield for the first time? What could possibly go wrong?
It seems some company took 30 billion images from people playing Pokemon Go and used the images to train delivery robots. Sure. Why do the work yourself when you can get idiots playing a game to pay to do it for you?
Some German tourist is suing a NYC taco shop over its spicy salsa.
Geez! Five shootings in three days at a Spring Break location. What is wrong with these kids?
Happy Birthday Rudolph Diesel! He gave us the diesel engine!
