Hello gamers,
I have a question. I was wondering how far can you stretch the rules for choosing a race in the PFS systems.
like from core to uncommon races.
How far can you use the alternate racial rules/traits.
Like Half elf for drow - blooded. Just say like for sight of dark vision of 60'.
here is another like Tiefling race. how far can I stretch the characteristic can I push. Like for claw attacks to do bleeding damage for an example.

Greetings, and welcome to PFS!
For questions about what source material is legal, be sure to consult the Additional Resources document.
Nothing drow-themed is legal, and "fluff" can never become "crunch", like claws doing more than claws normally do, but descriptive text is encouraged!

PFS rules are clear and not particularly stretchy.
You can choose one of the core rulebook races, or an aasimar, tiefling or tengu if you provide a legal rules resource for their statistics, or another race if you have a certificate (known as a race boon) that allows you to do so and you provide the legal rules source for it.
Additional Resources specifies what you may and may not use out of alternate racial abilities from rule sources that you own. Most, if not all, abilities derived from drow blood are not legal.
Your racial abilities do what the published rules say they do.

SO basically I can not even have the skin tone simple like a Drow too?

Nope.

You cant be the black skinned white haired type. However if you make a normal elf the race entry says this:
Elves who dwell in a region for long find themselves physically adapting to match their surroundings, most noticeably taking on coloration reflecting the local environment.
You could have an elven character come from a desert region, giving them a tanned skin.

That would be literally reskinning as a drow, which already has game stats, so is not allowed.
PFS is not so keen on characters who will be killed on sight in 80% of the campaign setting. It causes problems for the GM and other players.
