[Interjection Games] Puzzle Chests - Quick Update!

Product Discussion

Hey there, everyone! I'm still plugging away at this product. Currently, we're looking at between 50 and 60 pages of content detailing 25 chests, complete with new magic weapons (with an emphasis on firearms), knowledge skill check lore, optional traps, and other fun stuff to make each puzzle chest more memorable than a logic puzzle that took a player X minutes to solve.

Then again, the look on the rogue's face when he discovers 37 doses of drow knockout poison may be the most beautiful moment of them all.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Silver Ornate Chest... 1000 gp
Overly Elaborate and Complex Locking Mechanism with Cleverly hidden Trap... 100 gp
37 doses of Drow Poison... 2775 gp

Having the rogue roll a DC 85 Fort Save... Priceless

There are some things gp can't buy, for everything else there is Interjection Games.

This sounds more and more relevant to my interests.

Alright, looks like the number of puzzles is going over 25. About a quarter of the first 20 (one easy/middling puzzle for each CR from 1-20 because, unlike monsters, this new system can be introduced at any level with equal results) can be solved in a minute or less, and I feel incredibly awkward not giving people enough disgustingly evil puzzles to get their money's worth. Given the page count, we're looking at a price that is equivalent to my more expensive classes, so there needs to be longevity to the content.

Expect some nasty puzzles in the back of the book with special rules like:

Instead of a single line of dice, your puzzle is a 4x4 cube of dice. When you make a move, pick a row. After making your move, the leftmost die of each row in which you didn't make a move becomes the rightmost die of the row below it. The bottom row treats the top row as the row below it for the purpose of this rule.

All advanced puzzles are not CR-locked and do not have traps. This is to allow enterprising GMs to spring one of these vile constructs on the party at any level, then cackle as they try to solve it without knowing what the special rule is.

An additional 20 "chests" worth of loot will be generated in the back of the book to allow for easier integration.
