[Interjection Games] A sneak peek of the sanguine disciple's class progression table

Product Discussion

Hello, hello, everyone!

Development of the sanguine disciple is fairly progressed, and I'd like to share the class table with you now that it's been hammered out. Those who have purchased the edgewalker will see some similarities in the table regarding the class' bloodsong progression. As it is, such a system does a great job of allowing deep customization while making those few "greater" abilities feel like huge decisions, and there's no reason to fix what ain't broken.

Spells are using the maestro's "cast each one you know once per day" system in order to make it as restrictive as possible - the class will be given some fairly powerful spells, vampiric touch among them, but, like the maestro, it should never be expected to lean heavily upon them. Thus, multiple casts per day and metamagic are right out.

Bloodsongs spend blood points or your own Constitution, and are linked to Con for Difficulty Class calculation.

Spells are Charisma-based.

The Sanguine Disciple

1 - 2x Bloodsong, Jagged Lacerations, Sanguine Relic, 0th-level spells
2 - Bathe in Crimson, Blood Pool, Bloodsong
3 - 1st-level spells, Everything Bleeds
4 - Bloodsong
5 - Greater Bloodsong
6 - Bloodsong, 2nd-level spells
7 - Everything Bleeds
8 - Bloodsong, Persistent Lacerations
9 - 3rd-level spells
10 - Bloodsong, Greater Bloodsong
11 - Everything Bleeds
12 - Bloodsong, 4th-level spells
13 - Immunity to Fatigue
14 - Bloodsong
15 - Greater Bloodsong, Everything Bleeds
16 - Bloodsong
17 - Mortal Lacerations
18 - Bloodsong
19 - Everything Bleeds
20 - Bloodsong, Greater Bloodsong

Bloodsong - maneuvers

Jagged Lacerations - DC 10 + 1/2 level + Con mod Heal check to end bleed effects

Sanguine Relic - Your special weapon. Works somewhat similar to the 3.5 samurai ancestral blade in that rituals can sacrifice other gear to improve your weapon.

Bathe in Crimson - Standard action to "mark" a creature to regain blood points when it dies.

Blood Pool - This tiny pool of points (1/2 level) can be spent to offset using your own Constitution to power your abilities. Don't expect it to handle everything unless you spend many bloodsongs to make it viable. The average sanguine disciple will be a fan of cutting himself. Often.

Everything Bleeds - Make creature types that do not bleed bleed anyway. Who you gonna call?

Greater Bloodsong - scary maneuvers

Persistent Lacerations - When creature is healed, caster level check to end bleed. Otherwise, only halved.

Immunity to Fatigue - What it says

Mortal Lacerations - Fast healing and regeneration are somewhat shut down while bleeding
