Craptacular TV ads from the 70's 80's and 90's

I will start

Holden cars - football, meat pies, kangaroos (Australian ad, 1970's).

Victoria Bitter.

King Gee.

My absolute favorite-but-short-lived slogan:
"Something good is coming up when you get the Bisquick down."

It even had a jingle.

Hah!

In my childhood, one ad struck me as incredibly dumb. The fact that the memory of it still gets under my skin after 3 or 4 decades says something about it.

"We make Cran-Apple better than we have to."

What the heck does that even mean?!?

Even when the products were good, the ads were terrible!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

"Somethin good is comin up, when you get the Bisquick dow-own..good mornin Bisquick pancakes, comin up golden brown" ..."BISQUI-ICK!"..I sang that thing! (Full-voice high-D on that "BIS*QUI*-ICK!..cant come close anymore!)Short-lived indeed, but good money while it lasted!

If you grew up in Southern California during the '70s and '80s, these commercials should be familiar to you. Go see Cal, go see Cal, go see Cal! This guy was a used car salesman's used car salesman.
