Silver Crusade

My City of Psionics campaigns are continuing here and elsewhere (on OpenRPG, I'm doing 2 based on my world -- here I have 1. )

However working on one I hit a snag. I can't continue without a concept artist. Bleh. I finally realized that I came to the point where I need help. While on CivFanatics, a game developer (for the PC and Console platforms) came to me and asked if I was actually developing a video game. I sent him to my wiki and he suggested a concept artist.

I don't think he understood 'pencil and paper RPG' very well. I assumed he did. Anyway, I found my way on ConceptArt.org and posted a job (that wasn't posted) based on his advice. Finding that I stalled in that area, I can't develop beyond that point so I started on working on the Oriental side.

That game developer is absolutely right. It's much easier to get people excited for your game if you have artwork for it. It helps convey the feel and tone, which allows the reader to visualize what isn't illustrated in their minds. I personally make an effort to also draw short comics showing how game mechanics work, which has done wonders to attract interest into my projects.

Though, why exactly can't you continue without an artist?

I tried to photoshop my city myself. I still have 2 photos I can work with, but it's tough to find good stock from the Ancient Ages. There's a backlot I can work with, but it's a backlot. (bleu) and I felt despair at the dearth of free stock I can use (I use DA instead of IStockPhoto or Getty Images because DA has a lot of free stock you can download. StockExchange was good too).

So, I came as far as I could without help, and now I need help.
