What happens if you cast dispel magic on a golem?

Other RPGs

Playing OSRIC, AD&D, Swords and Wizardry, etcetera.
What would you rule would happen?
What about dispelling an animated object (a dancing sword, in the first instance or a flying gizmo darting around the room casting various spells?
Finally, what would be the effect of casting dispel magic on a talking sword with various special abilities?

I suppose I would have it deal an amount of damage based on the caster level.

Aren't golems immune to magic with animus provided by elemental spirit bound and contained within? It would proabably do nothing.

They're immune to lots of magic but not all (at least the ones we were fighting weren't). Our question was really whether they are objects or not (same with animated objects and intelligent swords).

Dispel magic in Swords and Wizardry says it stops magic items working for ten minutes, if successful - we were split on what effect the spell should have on those three types of "magic item".

Per my understanding of golems, it wouldn't effect them. They are only effected by spells listed in their description. Not even disjunction effects them.
The other two , as far as I am aware would be effected, per the rules of dispel magic, caster level checks and what not.

I'd consider all of those creatures, not objects. I wouldn't object to dispel magic having some type of stunning/dazing effect on them, though.
