Pseudo-Kryptonian themed template

Homebrew and House Rules

I made this based off the vampire template. Removed most of the weaknesses, but also several more powerful abilities. Does it retain CR 2? If not, what needs to change?

Paragon Creature:

CR +2
Al: Any Good
AC: Natural Armor +6
Senses: X-Ray Vision 20' - X-ray vision can penetrate 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, or up to 3 feet of wood or dirt. Thicker substances or a thin sheet of lead blocks the vision.

DR 10/Magic

Cold Resistance 10, Electric Resistance 10

Melee: A Paragon gains a slam attack if the base creature didn't have one. Damage for the slam depends on the character's size, but is one level higher than normal. Its natural weapons are treated as magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.

Laser Vision: A Paragon creature can produce a Scorching Ray 3 times per day.

Flight: A Paragon creature can fly at 60'/good in tactical situations.
Ability Scores: Str +8, Con +6, Int +2.

Paragon creatures gain a +8 bonus on Perception checks.

Paragon creatures gain Toughness and Overland Movement (Flight) as bonus Feats

Fast Healing: Paragon creatures have Fast Healing 5.

Feat
Overland Movement
Prerequisite: None
One of the character's movement speeds can be used to travel not only at normal tactical speeds, but at speeds much more vast when traversing distance alone (ie outside combat). The speed is the creature's movement speed in Feet x 10 in Miles Per Hour. Thus, a movement speed of 60 is 600 MPH when traveling only. This speed can never be controlled precisely enough to use among obstacles or in combat.

Also add:
Super Strength: A Paragon creature can lift weight as if it were two size categories higher.

General Zod would like to know why you have excluded him from you alignment considerations.

It is not bad for a quick template. I created a take on it as a variant of the monk. See if you like it.

Kryptonian

lol like the "Kr" pool. not sure that's the route I'd go, exactly, but it's a good take. I also like the changing AC bonus to CON.

Just a spontaneous reaction, but this should be worth way more than CR+2...

And there is no CL for the scorching ray ability.

Okay how much more, and why? I'm curious. the creature does not have dominate at will as a vampire, the creature does not turn to smoke as a vampire and escape for free to its grave. The scorching ray is neat, but I don't know that it makes up for dominate at will, especially since it's only 3/day. Also, this doesn't have undead traits, so is vulnerable to a lot of stuff a vampire (at +2) is not.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just want to understand why this is so awesome compared to a +2 CR vampire.

Yea, you are right. It's actually weaker than the vampire template. I Just took a quick look at it without comparing them and thought "put this on a pair of goblins and they'll slaughter an APL approppriate party, that can't be right." But it's the same with them vampire template, it's just very powerful.

Just shows again how using templates is not an exact science but rather an artform.

The missing CL on the scorching ray is still a thing 'though.

The vampire template comes with quite a lot of drawbacks (hunger, garlic, mirrors and holy symbols. Not to mention the fact that they’re always evil. Creatures who know they’re going up against a vampire can equip themselves quite extensively to make the combat much easier than normal (bringing the aforementioned list of materials, plus having holy weapons, Undead Bane, etc.). The Paragon Creature has no weaknesses and is therefore imbalanced.
Try making his X-ray vision, Laser Vision and Fast Healing, and Flight considered Supernatural Abilities, and therefore negatable in an Antimagic Field. Also, give him a similar recoil effect that the Vampire has, except make it vs. Adamantine (Pathfinder’s space rock) materials.
I get it that you're trying to make Superman, so these drawbacks may be unwanted; in which case, just up the CR bump that being Paragon makes you. Or, if you're the GM, just elect to ignore any CR increases and make whatever you want. Just remember that the pre-made templates were constructed to be balanced, and you may end up creating unforeseen issues if you create an unbalanced template.

Well, I'm not really trying to make Superman, per ce, just a playable template with a similar feel. I like having Adamantine as a vulnerability, I'll try to work that in somehow. Probably greatly reduce the Fast Healing as well.

I guess I felt like, for all the vulnerabilities I was getting rid of, I'm also giving up all the cool undead stuff, like immunity to various conditions, as well as the ability to automatically turn to dust and fly away when they hit zero hp. Those are both big deals, and I felt like not having them cancelled out a lot of the vulnerabilities.
