Ailson Kindler vs. the Pathfinder Society

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Does anyone know the nature of Ailson Kinder's "strong disagreements with the Society?" Haven't found relevant references in Ustalav - Rule of Fear or Classic Horrors Revisited (which doesn't mean they aren't there.)

I just assumed it was something like a "don't meddle in things you don't understand" type cautionary warning.

She's a 4th level Pathfinder Chronicler herself, so at some point it was her job to meddle in things she didn't understand. And the wiki says she's "all but" cut ties with the organization, so it's not a complete break, and she presumably still has her membership card & wayfinder.

I took that from the tone of the intro to Classic Horrors Revisited. The Society have asked her to write a guidebook to horrors, and she is warning the reader that this is a very bad idea and they shouldn't mess with such things. She is an elderly author with horrific experiences from her Pathfinder days when she delved too deeply into the subject of the book.

Okay, yes, I see that from the intro now that I've read it. But she went there on her own hook, because of her sister. I saw no indication that PFS convinced her to take any of that on, so I'm still not sure why she refers to them as thieves and charlatans.

My GM is looking for information because one of the PCs in the (Carrion Crown) game is a relative of hers, and the GM wants to bring "Aunt" Ailson in for some interaction.
