How much fits in an envelope?

In this country parcels aren't home delivered but envelopes are, so the latter are a lot more convenient. So I would like to know, how much can one generally order and still have it fit in an envelope? As a general rule.

The most I've had arrive in an cardboard envelope from Paizo is an AP plus either a Player Companion or a Campaign Setting book. Any more than that is more likely to come in a box.

So, as a rough guideline, I'd say two paperbacks. If they're both APs, that might be pushing it a bit too due to the extra thickness.

A flip-mat will probably take up about the same as a paperback.
