Alcohol (the complicated way)

Homebrew and House Rules

This is a system I came up with the Skull and Shackles AP but I can see this being of some use for those who want a more robust drinking system. If there is a good one out there already let me know and please feel free to comment on the rules set even if you have no interest in the AP.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

As I learned in a one-time experiment performed when I was a much younger man, the simplest way to complicate an RPG with alcohol is to drink what ever quantity your character drinks.

Your system is too complicated.

Hi Mathius,
I'll take the free to comment clause. I could see incorporating some of the Master Chymist prestige class rules into drinking. An alignment change could certainly happen to those who frequent the intoxicants. A character I played developed a pesh habit for roll-playing fun. The drug use wasn't an optimal trait for him. It did sometimes work into the campaign in interesting ways, however. I'd also agree with Ciaran that the rules are a little involved. (and here I am suggesting another feature!) gl and hf.

It is complicated but should I drop the conditions and just use the poison for extra damage and maybe con damage if you fail by to much?

I was more thinking the rules would come up when heave was being played and not just for a simple night of drinking.
