Premade group for Wrath

Wrath of the Righteous

Hi all, my first post on these boards.
I'm looking for some advices to build premade chars for my group of 6 players.
My group is mostly composed of RPG vets (not necessarely PF) and are used to premade chars ... and i believe it's much better for this campaign, as it'll enable me to have a groupe with one of each mythic path.
For now, this is what i've thinked about :
- Hierophant : Aasimar Cleric of Sarenrae
- Archmage : Elven Wizard Conjurer (i was even thinking about making it a LN Infernal Binder)
- Champion : Tiefling (pit born) Barbarian
- Guardian : Human Paladin of Iomedae
- Marshal : ???
- Trickster : ???

My objective is to have each character have his role, both from an RP and gameplay point of view. I don't like the new classes (Oracle, Gunslinger, Summoner and all), and in general not fond of multiclassing and hybrids ...
For the Marshal, I was thinking about having a Bard, either a Halfling being the "lucky charm" of the group, or a human, probably a Kellid human, willing to restore his people to their former glory.
Clearly, i don't see a halfling as a potential Marshal from an RP point of view ... as for a Kellid Bard (probably Savage skald) would it be interesting from a gameplay point of view ?

For the last spot, the Trickster, i'm completely lost ...
I found Rogues quite underwhelming ... Ninjas marginaly better ... but still, i've gone through the campaign, and don't see a lot of opportunities for such a char to shine ...
Having potentialy 6 players, it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to use all 6 campaign backgrounds, as well as all 6 mythic paths, but will it be fun for the players ?
The Marshal and the Trickster are the less straightforward approach to combat, so i'm not sure how they behave and how much interesting they can be for my players.
Any idea would help :)

Pre made characters sound odd to me, but that's not the point :)

Maybe try a ranger for the trickster. I have no idea how well it fits with their abilities but it does match the background trait. And the skill set will be useful in a few books.

Ummm... OK, whatever floats the boat of you and your group. But perhaps you'd like to gather their input first, then make the characters for them?

Most of my players would play anything as long as it's flavourfull :)

The reason i go for premade is that some players will go for monk/cave druid builds changing into oozes to kick some demon butts while other would play a halfling bard on a culinary quest to make a meal that could even please the might Deskari ...
In order to satisfy everyone, i give them premade, so that i'm sure that the group will have a good synergy and access to a wide array of power and possibilities. Also, the AP offers nice background options with the campaign traits, having each one a different trait would be better.
Actually, my main concern is to know if marshal and tricksters wouldnt feel useless compared to the other mythic pathes. I'm not very experienced with PF, i'm biased towards bards and rogues, coming from ADD2 ... i'm afraid they would be sidekicks compared to other classes ...

Maybe you should try another AP first, one without an additional ruleset?

You're coming from faraway (I used to play 1st ed), so the game is totally different, as you've most likely noticed.

Bards are force multipliers in large groups. The larger the group, the nastier.

You're probably still thinking of teh classic Fighter/wizard/cleric/rogue party.

Many classes can interchange those roles.

avoid the infernal binder, it will cause problems. I have a Ranger in my group and Trickster seems to work fine for her. I agree that a Bard makes a great Marshall. You also might consider the Paladin as a Marshall and have someone else do guardian.

I'd actually do something like this.

- Hierophant : Aasimar (Agathion-Blooded) Oracle of Life of Sarenrae. Given the racial and trait background, Oracle fits better than Cleric imho, also Agathion is one of Sarenrae's subdomains so it stands to reason that her offspring would be related to Agathions.
- Archmage : Elven Witch (Dimensional Occultist). Given the extended lifespan, this Witch would be native of old Sarkoris and her Patron of choice reflects her wish to close the Worldwound that opened on her land and perhaps restore the ways of the Green Faith on the wounded land.
- Champion : Tiefling (Pitborn) Paladin of Iomedae. I "switched" these two based primarily on how I envision the trait background and how it is developed in book 3. Overwhelmed with shame, the human-turned-tiefling that almost became a full fledged demon had to seek redemption and atonement, a paladin life is perfect for both! Also, a paladin doesn't really need more defense.
- Guardian : Human Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager). This could also be from a Sarkorian tribe and perhaps the Elven Witch above saved him from a grisly death by the hands of a demon and later became her protector (much like FR Rashemen Witches and their Barbarian Guardians). Maybe he also was related by blood to a certain barbarian tribe in Sarkoris lead by a mad chief with similar demonic abilities presented in book 3. Fiendish Totem rage powers optional and flavorful. Able to withstand huge amounts of punishment with his DR and hit points, much needed for a class that usually has low AC.
- Marshal : Half-Elven Cavalier/Cleric (Evangelist) going into the Battle Herald prestige class. Your go-to war veteran and field commander for your army in book 2. Ranks in profession (soldier) are a must and I picked Cleric over Bard due to the heavy religious load in this AP and the ability to wear heavy armor while riding in front of the army.
- Trickster : Gnome Bard (Prankster). This guy is almost a comic relief, he can bring a smile on even the most grim faced soldiers and hopeless people of the Fifth Crusade. I'm sure there's AT LEAST one person in any party who would love to play this sort of character. Recommended chaotic good alignment and low wisdom score for maximum fun!

If you don't feel like making up your own party, you might check out Legendary Games' Righteous Heroes. Its a pre-gen party written by some of the same authors as the AP volumes themselves.

Aasimar Oracle (Purifier) (Battle/Tongues)
Human Paladin of "the Goddess of Valor" (Iomedae)
Tiefling Inquisitor of "the Goddess of Dreams" (Desna)
Half-Elf Druid of "the God(dess) of Nature" (Gozreh)
Human Sorcerer (Wildblooded (Empyreal))
Human Rogue (Sanctified)
Dwarf Cleric (Crusader) of "the God of Strategy" (Torag)
Elf Summoner (Synthesist)

(They use that way of referring to the gods due to the Pathfinder compatibility license.)

All the PCs have interpersonal relationship starting points and hints at ways to advance and develop them as the AP progresses, too.

On sale right now through Monday for 4.19, regularly 5.99.
