Help balancing a feat.

Homebrew and House Rules

Grand Lodge

I am getting ready to start a new game and I had a idea for a feat but I would like your advise on balancing it.

The basics for the campain so far is that hey are part of a militay group for a village that is sent out on mission. (Yes think something like Naruto with the village leader sending the party out on adventures). This back drop will let me mix and match what adventures I use and why they must head to certain towns and I think will work well for me.

One of the homebrew feats I am thinking of putting in though I would like you get your advise on balancing it out.

Resupply
Pre: Must be from one of the 4 major faimly.
Benefit: You are from one of the 4 major faimlys and becouse of this you can get ressuplyed on some of your consumable gear when you return to your main village. On level up you make a list of consumable gear equal to or less then 1gp time your level squared. Each time you return to the village you a resupplyed back upto this list. On each level up your can change your list of equipment.

What do you think and any ideas on balancing it.

My initial thought is that it is quite weak. The character only get a few gp worth of items each time he stocks up.

Flavorwise I like it, so it might be appropriate as a campaign trait. But even as a trait, you could go a long way getting 900 gp in starting funds from Rich Parents.

You might take a look at the Deep Pockets ability of the Pathfinder Chronicler, which has a bit more usability, while able to fit your flavor. The limit could be lowered to 50 gp per level perhaps, or something scaling like you suggest.

I like the idea of it being a trait instead of a feat. I also know about the Rich Parents but that one trait I never cared for to much it is all at the very beging and not over your life.

At the very least I'd suggest changing your formula from gold to platinum. Making it a trait rather than a feat is also a good idea.

I like the idea of making it platinum as it incresses how much they have but still keeing it balanced.

I agree with the idea of making it a trait and changing it to platinum pieces. I would also change it from once per level to once per month.

I ment that you can change the list on level up. You get the supplies each time you return to the vilage. They will be returning between adventurs so will be resupplies between adventures.

I'd actually suggest that you establish the military group as a Faction, with the ability to resupply being something that they can purchase or gain automatically with prestige.

Feats are way too valuable to ask them to spend on this kind of thing.
