I'm not partially to a google group than the paizo forums. Is it still possible to make get credit for a PFS GM session for running an adventure path elsewhere? It's not like I can't run one in my home, right?
I don't see why not. You should be able to play the game in any capacity you want as long as you're running your players through the adventure path. Just make sure not to alter the Chronicle Sheets other than filling things out... there have been people adding their own stuff to chronicle sheets, which causes issues with balance and consistency.

Not to mention being clearly against the spirit and intent of an organized play campaign, namely that everyone has access to the same rewards and options (given an equal level of involvement).
And that it's explicitly against the rules.

Heck, Mike Brock has said you can run it in another game system if you want. As long as the story gets told as written, everyone gets a chronicle sheet. Compared to that just running it in a different forum is trivial deviation.
That would be surprising... "Run as written" surely includes the mechanics of the game!

Campaign mode for the APs and new modules says run them however you want.

But you aren't running a PFS game, you are running an AP or big module as a home game.

Right... which still earns chronicle sheets for you and your players. That's how running in campaign mode works. :)

I was pointing out that running in home game mode means that you aren't, actually, running a PFS game, just that you can earn PFS credit as an incidental by-product, so that the "Run RAW" commandment for PFS games is not in effect for home game mode.
Running, say, Dragon's Demand as a home game means that you can adjust the combats to handle that 6 player party, or use Fantasy Hero as your game system, and still gain/give PFS chronicles and GM star table credit for the module or AP.
Wonder what my prospective players response would be if I told them that I decided that the RotRL game I am going to be starting shortly is going to be run in Hero System instead of Pathfinder....

Probably better than if you told them it was going to be GURPS Fantasy... (Nothing wrong with GURPs fantasy, but it tends to be deadlier and better suited to low level gritty campaigns, where as Hero seems to work better for over the top pulp stuff.)
Have they played Hero before? (The math does put some people off.)

No idea, really. Was just an off-the-cuff remark.
My old AD&D group switched to Champions, which we used for most of our 10 year run, including, later, converting our original PCs to Fantasy Hero...
I don't like GURPS, myself, it scales in funny ways. Hero is fairly straightforward, but I would have to see if there was a new version of the old HeroMaker software...
