Deadly Fist (Psycokinetic Discharge)

Product Discussion

I am Planning a Monk/Soulknife(Deadly Fist)

Psycokinetic Discharge:
Psychokinetic Discharge (Su)

A deadly fist of 1st level learns how to take the energy he has charged into his unarmed strikes and release it as a blast of energy at an opponent. As a ranged attack, the deadly fist can make an unarmed attack at an opponent. The attack deals damage as normal for the deadly fist's unarmed attacks.

The range increment of the attack is 10', but is considered to be a projectile instead of a thrown weapon, so the attack has a maximum range of 10 increments instead of 5. Whether or not the attack hits, the deadly fist's unarmed attacks are no longer empowered and he must take the normal time to empower them.

The text for discharge says it is an unarmed attack. does this mean i can use it with Stunning Fist? Snake Fang?

No opinions on This?

Psionics are third party material. Not Paizo.

What BBT said. Your best bet is to consult your GM.

Benefit: You must declare that you are using this feat before you make your attack roll (thus, a failed attack roll ruins the attempt). Stunning Fist forces a foe damaged by your unarmed attack to make a Fortitude saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 your character level + your Wis modifier), in addition to dealing damage normally. A defender who fails this saving throw is stunned for 1 round (until just before your next turn). A stunned character drops everything held, can’t take actions, loses any Dexterity bonus to AC, and takes a –2 penalty to AC. You may attempt a stunning attack once per day for every four levels you have attained (but see Special), and no more than once per round. Constructs, oozes, plants, undead, incorporeal creatures, and creatures immune to critical hits cannot be stunned. . .
***
Thrown Weapons: The wielder applies his Strength modifier to damage dealt by thrown weapons (except for splash weapons). It is possible to throw a weapon that isn't designed to be thrown (that is, a melee weapon that doesn't have a numeric entry in the Range column on Table: Weapons), and a character who does so takes a –4 penalty on the attack roll. Throwing a light or one-handed weapon is a standard action, while throwing a two-handed weapon is a full-round action. Regardless of the type of weapon, such an attack scores a threat only on a natural 20 and deals double damage on a critical hit. Such a weapon has a range increment of 10 feet.

Projectile Weapons: Most projectile weapons require two hands to use (see specific weapon descriptions). A character gets no Strength bonus on damage rolls with a projectile weapon unless it's a specially built composite shortbow or longbow, or a sling. If the character has a penalty for low Strength, apply it to damage rolls when he uses a bow or a sling.

I am leaning toward yes. But you lose your strength bonus to damage. Because you're trading a mind blade and the throw mind blade features, I actually think this is a net loss, especially since the monk's and soulknife's unarmed strike feature overlap. If I were to combine the two, I'd probably just dip monk later and add Ki Weapon to the mind blade. But as always, consult your DM when you have an unusual ability combination.

It also wouldn't hurt to ask over at the Dreamscarred Press Boards to see if/how they meant the abilities to work/interact. Jeremy and the crew are pretty nice and have a vested interest in seeing psionics being fair, functional, and appealing.
