Things are heating up with our new offerings for February. You’d think I’d have a lot to say regarding sex and love in gaming, but really it comes down to the group dynamics and knowing its limits. Never assume anything when it comes to love and sex in adventuring—what you might find acceptable, comical, or even desirable is not usually shared by everyone in a group. No one should be made to feel uncomfortable in a gaming group and everyone has their own triggers.

Adventures in the CYCLON
Futuristic Cycle Racing and Drama!
The Cyclon: High-speed cycle racing on the ever-changing plasti-tracks of the Cyclon. It’s high-speed thrills and danger in the deadly motorcycle racetracks of the future. Racers may live the high life, but it can all evaporate in an instant in a burst of fire and smoke from a deadly wreck.
In this series of adventures, two of the Players will portray “story characters.” Each story character has a single rule that must be obeyed during character generation. One of the Players will be the Kid. The only thing the Kid character must be is young. The second Player must be the old racing Partner of the Kid’s now-deceased Parent. The only thing the Partner must be is on the same team as the Kid. Other than that, the Players have full control over who these characters are, from name to sex to chosen skills. Also, the Kid has a few added benefits in return for having the character’s age dictated.
The Parent of the Kid was a famed Cyclon racer. One day, though, the Parent died on the track in a ball of flames. The only things most dead racers leave to their family are debts, and the lease on the racing seat they rented from the racing company that controls their cycle. In most situations, the families sell the racing seat back to the sponsor company, using the proceeds to pay off the debts, and then live of the remainder. In this rare case, the family decided to hold onto the seat until the Kid came of age to race in the Parent’s place.
Gelly Rain: In this adventure for Cyclon, we open our story with the Kid. Despite the years, no one can forget that fateful night, when one of the most famous Cyclon racers died tragically on the track in a ball of flames. Instead of selling the racing seat back to the sponsor company, the family held the seat open for the day when the Kid would come of age and race in the Parent’s place. It has meant years of grinding poverty suffered by the family as it struggled to pay the seat rental fees and the dead Parent’s racing debts. It has meant facing the anger of the sponsors, who didn’t want to leave a racing seat open for so long—a seat that they’re paying good money to sponsor. Yet, the family somehow managed. Now, the Kid has come of age and is ready to take up the Parent’s old seat. This is the Kid’s first race.
