Running modules

Liberty's Edge 2/5

of late i have run, and been run through, modules in PFS and i can clearly say that, while i love these, they have severely hampered the characters i have run through these modules and applied the GM credit too. 2 real issue really.

1. 4 prestige is not enough, needs to be upped to 5. I have a 4th level character that cant buy a 3k item, thats pretty bad.

2. Like was done on the PFS scenarios add tier money to the chronicle sheets. So if the module is say 2-4, have a money gained for levels 2 3 and 4. Otherwise , since the money on the sheets is consistently based on the lowest level, a level 4 charter takes a serious set back to his ability to function going forward.

Just some suggestions, i am sure i am not the first to put these forward.

1. Baseline is 4.5 prestige/level. Scenarios seem to average closer to 6/level. Since most characters play modules interspersed with scenarios, I'm okay with modules being a little bit lower to average everything out.
Besides, if you're a level 4 character with 3 modules worth of credit, you have 12 prestige, which means you're one scenario away from having enough fame to get a 3,000gp item.

Dragon's Demand:
If we're talking about a character with Campaign Mode Dragon's Demand credit, I do agree that the campaign mode chronicle sheet should have 5 prestige to balance with the fact that you're getting lower than average prestige from all the module credit, much like you're getting less gold to account for the fact that you're getting more than WBL for the other sheets.

However, if this is the case, note the Day at the Auction boon on chronicle #2. As a level 4 character, you're only supposed to have 1 3,000gp item anyway according to WBL, and this will help you get that item.

2. You don't get gold based off the lowest level - it's based off the middle level (aka the level the module was written for).

Calculations w/ Feast of Ravenmoor:

Feast of Ravenmoor is a 3rd level module with 3,711 gold.
Lvl 3 WBL = 3000 gp
Lvl 4 WBL = 6000 gp
Difference from 3->4 = 3000 gp

wow you happen to hit right on the scenarios i was referring too by wbl you should have 10 k by 4th level Dragons Demand gets you well... not close to that really. The difference hurts

As for feast, i ran that with a level 4, it was easier for that character but i felt bad, the jumped from 4 to 5 and i felt bad. Buy WBL that should have been around 5k, and its a bit over a k shy of that. Since modules cover a an entire level, i think it would be more fair to the users to up the money based on the level playing so playing the top of the tier does not hurt as much. Its just balancing.

glad you agree on the prestige issue and yes i noticed.

I want to add, I loved running the Feat of Ravenmoor, that is a flat awesome module.

Wealth By Level

By Level 4 you're supposed to have 6,000, not 10,000.

Dragon's Demand math:

1st chronicle gets you 1,536.
4th chronicle at 2nd level gets you 1,000.
2nd chronicle gets you 4,800.
The total is 7336 plus your initial 150, which is 125% of wealth by level for level 4.

You get enough gold from the Dragon's Demand chronicles.

As for splitting them up by level, I'm not a huge fan. If you walk into Feast of Ravenmoor with a 4th level character, you know that you're going to have less of a challenge than if you played an appropriate level adventure. Less risk = less gold. And to be fair, we're talking about 800 less gold. That's not a ton of gold.
