What level do the AP's finish at?

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

As a matter of curiosity I'm trying to work out what level someone playing through all the AP's with one character would be at by the end of it. However while some APs say this is "for the fast expereince track" and "the PC's should be at X level by the final fight" a lot of them don't.

To that end I'd greatly appreciate it if some people who've played through them could post the final party levels for the various paths.

Rise of the Runelords
From what I can see online this goes under the fast track and finishes at level eighteen (1.2 million XP or thereabouts).

Curse of the Crimson Throne
? I think from what I could see this is medium and finishes at 18 but not sure.

Second Darkness
No idea

Legacy of Fire
No idea.

Council of Thieves
No idea.

Kingmaker
No idea.

Serpents Skull
Assume medium track finish at 17th level (1.3 million xp)

Carrion Crown
Medium track either 15 or 16th level depending on xp levels around final fight I'm assuming it puts them to 16th after victory. (635,00 to 890,000 xp)

Jade Regent
Medium track finish at 16 (890,000 xp)

Skull and Shackles
Medium 14th to 15th level depending on how much xp they get in the final battles assuming 15 from what I could see (635,000 xp)

Shattered Star
Medium, 17 to 18 depending on how much is in those vaults I'm assuming 17 at the end (1.3 million xp)

Reign of winter
Medium 17th level (1.3 million xp)

Wrath of the Righteous
medium 20th level (3.6 million xp)

Mummy's mask/iron gods not yet released so we'll leave those out of the calculations.

Crimson Throne, Second Darkness are on the 3.5 xp track, which is radically different to the Pathfinder XP train. You simply had to gain an amount of xp equivalent to the level you were on times 1000. So at 1st level ypu had tp gain 1000xp, then you were 2nd. at second you had to gain 2000 xp (taking you to a total of 3,000)

Crimson Throne "by the end of the adventure characters should be 16th level"
Second Darkness "by the end of the adventure characters should be 16th level"
Legacy of Fire "by the end of the adventure characters should be 16th level"
Note that these only get you around 120,000 xp, or between 11th & 12 on fast.

Everything from here on out is medium. Council only made 13th, but Kingmaker should get you to 17th

Thanks.

Fascinating with the XP progression on a medium track if you did Wrath of the Righteous you'd end up at 20th level, 10th tier. If you then did EVERY other released adventure path with the same character you'd end up at 22nd level, 10th tier just 2 more levels gained. Provides a nice ingame explanation of why high level beings send low level ones out to do their tasks they can gain enough experience to rival (or come close) to the high level one in a fraction of the time it'd take the high level one to see any improvement. Well unless you move off XP as a limiter and count each path as starting from 1st level or learning off camera doesn't obey progression.

To expand on that last post if you go off the old style DND XP track and did all the paths currently out you'd end up at 162nd level (bit of a difference there).

While if you multiplied the XP but kept the progression constant i.e. if you finish at 13th level add the medium xp track for 13th level rather than the dnd one you wind up with 2,300,000 short of 23rd level (interesting that the XP difference between DND and Pathfinder isn't enough to push you over that point due to the exponential increasing xp used in pathfinder).

Alternatively if you reset each adventure XP gained/required as only counting for that adventure i.e. you always gain enough XP to achieve that many levels regardless of where you start e.g. 20th at start of RoTR you end up at 38 you'd have 214 levels by the end of it which would work out in the billions of XP required.

Interesting differences there, if your going with pathfinder XP make sure you know where you want to end up at the start of your adventuring career because its going to take you a long, long time to get there. Half a billion needed just for level 35.

Or you can do as any sane person would with the old AP's and simply award levels when needed.

I'm expecting my Serpent's Skull campaign to end around 18th-20th level. Near the end I will be adding challenges and the such to push them higher than the modules say, but then again my players want to hit 20th is at all possible.

So if i have to make the end game tougher and more elaborate who am I to say no? :)

But if i was to run the campaign as written, i would expect 18th level.

I also ran Rise of the Runelords under 3.5 rules and the characters finished at 18th level.

kingmaker tops out at 17th
