i have searched around the internet a bit, and searched forums threads and from what i can tell no one has actually posted what characters are expected, on average to have by level x, so i thought i would ask.
From what i can tell, for level 1-2 you should get around 500gp per scenerio, so hitting level 2 you should have around 1500 gp of gear. Beyond that i dont think i can find a standard, i can tell pretty clearly what is 'low' but has anyone ever put out a definitive list on that. The answer may well be no but thought i would put it out there.

I used to have WAY more than normal but then they instituted the stupid out of subtier gold policy. Boo hiss. I recall playing my very first scenario on my armored hulk barbarian (played subtier 4-5) and having enough money to buy masterwork full plate afterwards. Those were the days. :)

This takes into account the relatively new out-of-subtier gold, which will likely raise the average for characters at or below level 3. It's also a theoretical average; it doesn't take into account the likelihood (or lack thereof) that you'd be able to play up on your 5 of your first 6 scenarios.
My characters' wealth at 6xp:
3428gp
3553gp
2992gp
3165gp (@5xp)
2147gp (@5xp)
3026gp
3530gp (@5xp)
5314gp
5200gp
The last two both benefited from GM credit for modules run and applied at the minimum level. There are definitely some perks for GMing.

Indeed, using scenarios at higher tier, even with out-of-sub-tier gold, can bump the gold for a PC by a bit.
Getting credit and GP for playing or GMing modules at minimum level can also bump gold by a significant amount.
Heck, playing a 3-7 or a 1-5 at level 4, even though both would likely be in-sub-tier, can make a difference.
