Got this for Christmas morning, and am in love with it already.
Looked at Faq, and didn't see it in the rulebook (I might likely have missed it).
You have a check with it's base die, then you play a spell that adds a different die type, then play a blessing to add 1 die - do you add just the base skill die from the blessing, or can you add the die type from the spell if it is larger?

Added dice are always the base die. If your base die (i.e. Stength, Dexterity, etc...) has a numerical modifier, that is not part of the die and therefore does not get added again for each extra die.

I'm not a huge board game / card game fan. I tend not to like games with winners and losers - that is why RPGs have been my game of choice since '77. But I love Pathfinder and this was co-operative. My wife knows me too well. I am hooked after 1 scenario (Brigadoom!).
So we picked up the Character add on and Adventure add on (2). Haven't played them yet, but I know I will want to. I also grabbed game trade magazine, so I got the promo card. I wish I could find the others without paying 20 bucks a pop on eBay. I also got the owner to hold me the new adventure pack (and a promo) for me to pick up tomorrow.
We reset the characters and decided to run long term, so we are going through the three in the box then starting Rise. After having read teh rulebook 2 times taking notes, and playing again - I have a much more solid grasp of the rules, and how the game works, and I know I will love it.
As we got playing and seeing how the game works - the job that the game itself makes it feel like a roleplaying game, and the way some cards mimic the fell of RPG abilities in the card game are amazing. There were a couple and I just sat there looking at the card mechinic, then laughing because it was perfect.
The friend in our game group that taught me how to play magic all those years ago is someone I will introduce this game too - I think he will really enjoy it.
I think I will start subscribing so I can get the next pack (and promo) right when it gets here. I don't subscribe to any of the RPG lines as I tend to go digital only. It would be nice to subscribe to something.
