If I select "Standard Postal Delivery" to send something to the UK, I'm provided with this arcane instruction:
9-36 business days in transit, 2-10 business days
Can someone tell me what the point of the second clause is and whether "business days" includes Saturdays or not?
This means that your order will leave the Paizo warehouse in 2-10 business days (Monday to Friday), and it will then take 9-36 business days (Monday to Friday) to get to your door.
(My last order shipped to France took exactly 9 business days to arrive. [Sent on 11/7, arrived today.])
So if I ordered it today, I could expect it to have left Seattle by next week and be in the UK before Christmas (one hopes).
It *could*, but business days are typically Monday to Friday, and so you'd be looking at an expected minimum 11, maximum 46 business days which could theoretically mean January. Maybe plan for a nice gift-announcement card as a backup if the order's meant as a gift?
It's only intended for me, fortunately, but there's always the chance of getting stuck in the Christmas traffic.
If it helps, I'm in the UK and have received my orders over the past 3 months or so within 14 (total) days after dispatch.
The only worry I'd have right now is the Great Golem Sale stretching dispatch times, as it's possible something ordered right now may not dispatch until the beginning of December. At that point you're looking at a rough estimate (purely by my own averages so far, so please don't take it as any kind of guarantee) of around the 16th-18th of December for arrival before taking any Christmas postal delays into account.
Personally, I'd probably risk it.
Now, if you're thinking of treating yourself to a Paizo subscription rather than ordering something specific, then at least you get the free PDF downloads on the day of dispatch to tide you over until the package arrives ;) (No, I'm not on commission! :D )
I'm just after a cheap book in the big sale, but it's almost as cheap as a PDF, which would of course arrive immediately. :)
