Hello everyone,
I have a simple question which I saw being asked numerous times and I can't remember that it ever received answer. If it did, I welcome anyone to provide a link. I have little free time these days to search old forum topics.
So the question is: Can a PFS GM choose to not apply GM chronicle to any character? My characters tend to advance fast before I get a chance to play them at all.
I also thought about Slow Progression, but it only consumes chronicles with half slower progression. Al tho it might slow down my character's XP, I am just losing chronicles for nothing because I am playing PFS for a long time now. I played at very least half of scenario's, if not more. So it doesn't seem very helpful to me to choose such.
I hope the question is clear and I hope someone can help me out with this minor problem. Thanks upfront for responses.
Adam

Yes. A player playing a scenario for the first time has no choice but to receive a chronicle for the session.
A GM may choose to award credit to a character when he/she runs a scenario, but can only do so once (barring GM star recredit ability). They are under no obligation to ever take that chronicle if they do not want to, but if they do, it must be reported at the same time as the rest of the table (no saving it to randomly apply credit later).

I typically use slow progression to solve the problem, but if you didn't want to do that, then I suggest you create more characters to apply the credit to (what I've been doing more lately). This lets you play a higher percentage of the character's total 'life-span', and get 'full credit' from chronicles. Downside is your character playing time gets stretched thin (often I won't get to play a specific character for a year), and you may lose the thread of the character's personality and mechanics.

@Sniggevert
And if I GM the same scenario for second time later, I can take the chronicle, if I didn't take it the first time?
@Majuba
I already have 8 characters. Most of them is starting to pile up between levels 4-5 and I am starting to run out of character ideas. In the end, I will probably use slower progression, but I am just hoping to research for alternatives.

Yes, Malag. I have GM'd several scenarios in the past for no credit. Then later, GM'd them again and at that time applied credit to a character.
When you go to report the game, just leave the character field next to the GM number blank. You'll get star credit for running the game, but it won't be applied to any character.

Ah, you must be close to 3 stars if that many characters are having a problem. Additional suggestion - try to get them spaced out a bit.

As someone who stuffs all my GM credit in a 'statless blob', I just realized the advantage to that. At a con in January I am playing both bonekeeps, and have a level 7 to throw at it for fun without the risk to one of my precious characters I regularly play. Better yet, all the players are getting together to build our 'bonekeep squad' so I can roll the statless one up to fill any party niche.

GM credits are fuel for theory-crafted characters you'd otherwise not play OR would be too painful to level to the point at which they become "interesting".
Let your *real* characters level organically, so you can savor them.
Eventually you'll have a list of scenarios you just enjoy running again and again (and thus won't get chronicles for), and "too many credits" will diminish as a problem!
