Looks like the Goblin Plush item is 10.00 x 6.00 x 3.00 in., 0.26 lbs. and the Chibithulhu Plush—Halloween is 10.00 x 10.00 x 10.00 in., 0.75 lbs.
In this case its not really the weight that's adding to the shipping cost, its the size of the package. Our standard shipping option has to fall into either light weight and small enough for first class mail, or 50% or more bound printed matter (books). If its not books, 10x10x10 and 3/4 lb is too big for our standard shipping option which means the cheapest it can go is UPS ground.
For shipping costs, we aren't able to take a huge loss on shipping and our shipping department doesn't make a profit. Generally speaking, we charge what it costs to ship items to the recipient (this may include: postal, packaging and/or labor). Additionally we only have 1 warehouse. We get our shipping prices compared a lot with a certain major online retailer who has warehouses across the country and ships at a volume that can command far steeper discounts with shipping companies than we can and additionally can use shipping costs as a loss leader at their discretion.
I'm sorry the prices aren't what you expected, but unfortunately they are the best shipping prices we can offer.

I am going have the warehouse double check the measurements for it to make sure they are correct. I was assuming the 10X10X10 was because it was in a box, but someone just let me know they are loose in bags so we want to double check for you.
I'll let you know if we find out anything different.

It looks like the warehouse checked the dimensions and it was much smaller, 4"x4"x8" and only half a pound. Try putting it in your cart again and let us know if there is still a problem. Thanks!

It means we sold out. We only had a limited quantity to sell and it is out of print at Steve Jackson.Okay, thanks for the effort though. It's a little confusing because it's still in the "Available Now" tab, in the normal location in the catalog, and I can add it to my cart but it's not in the "On Sale" tab.
Strange indeed. Probably means we can buy some at full price from somewhere. We were trying to clear up some old stock with this sale, so the system is probably set up to sell back at full price once we are sold out. I'll have Liz take the product out of the sale node to avoid confusion.
