Where am I missing the runeforged weapon info?

Ok, I'm almost finished with completely reading Sins of the Savior..however, I've realized that I can't recall anywhere where the PCs were supposed to be tipped off to runeforged weapons, their purpose, how to make them etc. Where did I go wrong in my reading? I would think that it would occur back with the Stone Giants...however, I can't recall anything there at all except for a brief message mentioning it along with the traitor under Sandpoint.

This is obviously way too important of a plot point to just flub...so can someone please point me to where I could have bypassed it?

I'm at work and don't have any materials in front of me, but it this should be something the PCs can learn in the library under Jorgenfist.

*sigh* I was afraid of that. The chances that my players actually will manage to use the library to any great benefit will probably be slim to none. Without that information...I would think the desire to actually track down the Runeforge would be slim. I'll have to figure out a way to add such information into the game more naturally as well as beef up Karzoug's influence on what is going on to get them pointed in the direction of needing and wanting to see him taken care of properly.


This is what I plan to do in my game and is not written or anything so take it with a grain of salt.

I plan on spreading part of Karzougs legend that (somehow) he gained immunity to all weapons forged on Golarion and only Runeforge weapons can even harm him.

Plant the seeds of this early on and they will be scrambling to find out where they can get these weapons.

It will make book 5 seem like a completely necessary adventure rather than the sidetrek it feels like.


There is information on Runeforge weapons in the Runeforge itself, I believe. So you could easily have it explained in there. The Gluttony chap in the sewer plans on building a Dominant Weapon to deal with Karzoug, so have him surrender when hurt badly enough and use that information to barter his life with.

Vraxeris, the illusion wizard, has a detailed journal basically saying everything that is necessary. However, if your PCs aren't into reading, it can be missed.

The gluttony wizard has a list of all the components for each type of weapon. Wondering what this is might make them read the former if not the latter, It's supposed to be in his spellbook, but make it a sheet of paper that is wrapped around his divination focus mirror.

That said... my players are readers, and knew all about the Runeforged weapons. However, despite all this, they all made weapons except for the one they were supposed to make. Watch out for the abjuration one, BTW. That thing is monstrous! It's practically universal. I recommend a nerf. Anyway, they ended up fine. Runeforged weapons are not necessary.
