My players of been crying out for this for years.
Back in the old days with the original Dungeons & Dragons game, TSR put out the series of modules for the companion and master sets, all the way to 36th level. Even after that they published an Immortals set, a set devoted to taking characters truly into becoming demigods themselves, and even published modules for them. Even back then my players loved that epic rise and power, and I believe despite what some developers have claimed, that there really isn't demand for it, we have always cried foul and wanted more.
Perhaps it is that we have gotten older, and as such we have less time to devote to creating our own custom adventures. Instead for many years we've looked towards publishers to develop adventures for us that are engaging and open our imaginations.

Hi Little Red & Friends
I have gone over the Legendary content again (a bit more carefully) and have a couple of extra points to add.
The first is a query as to why sorcerers can progress on their Lvl 0-9 spells but a wizard cannot?
The second query has to do with prestige classes (again). Note: the first query may impact the 2nd.
The Arcane Archer, Arcane Trickster (a personal favourite), Dragon Disciple, Eldritch Knight, Mystic Theurge (another favourite) and others have an incomplete spell progression (for character lvl 20). In my view if levels are expanded to lvl 30, spell progression for spells known and spells cast per day should be able to reach the maximum spells known/cast per day as per outlined in the Players handbook (Core Rulebook) - at least for optimized characters. How would you address this issue in expanded Legendary content?

Hi Arliss
I have still got that old set that you speak.
Although I consider 3.0, 3.5, Pathfinder to be vastly superior to D&D, AD&D, AD&D 2nd ed, some of the comparable strengths of that old system to the new is the shorter amount of time taken for combat and lower level of complexity of the combats.
I also think many table top game companies have got it wrong concerning epic level play. Gamers that play WoW, Shaiya Online etc with rare exception always seek to optimize their character. A new expansion pack with updated level limits always creates a mad scramble to reach the top.
Even those that play for role-playing reasons do not play characters that are utterly helpless. Role playing at high level can be equally rewarding as low level. Yes, displays of incompetence would be less frequent, but they are much more hilarious.
Concerning the demographics of table top gamers, is the average age of the table top gamer getting older? Or is it because of the mass exodus of table top gamers due to the release of D&D 4th Ed?
Anyhow, happy new year. :)
Cheers

Wizards/Sorcerer
Wizards were initially intended to be able to specialize in their 10+ levels spells more but I don't know how successfully we did that. This will be something we are going to be looking at when we revisit the concept. We are likely going to progress lowers spells for everyone.
This was also kind of the issue with divine characters (we are currently revamping at the moment) who don't have a true dweomer equivalent. At this point it looks like we are keeping it that way, but rebuilding the system for divine characters, godhood, divinity scores, and the like from the ground up. There will be a lot more emphasis on your role as a deity/high level divine agent. We want divine characters to FEEL different than arcane characters. Things like offering boons to followers, inter-pantheon conflicts, etc.
Prestige Classes
And we are looking at what we want to do with the prestige classes. There are a few ways we could do them. One would be to expand them another 10 levels and have them progress spells known (as per the existing class) so they could benefit from the expanded range of the base classes.
I am not sure which prestige classes we will be expanded but the CRB classes are probably good candidates for that (I personally love shadowdancer).
@Eveyone
So we have been going over a LOT of planning for this product. It's going to be a massive undertaking, even using our existing books as a base. We got Jack Holiday (the artist who did Dragon Tiger Ox with us) signed on to do a stupid number of images for this book (it's like 35+). That being said, we will need to do a larger Kickstarter than we've ever done to fund it.
It is looking like a $10k+ affair but the resulting book is going to be something insane like 400-500 pages long. However, as with all of our previous KS we're really looking to get the backers (particularly the high level ones) involved in the nitty gritty of what actually goes in the book. We are looking to launch it in the spring after work on Dragon Tiger Ox is finished and out the door (which is more or less waiting on 2 stretch goals, final cover art, and formatting).
We are also looking at the logistics of incorporating the basis of a setting for legendary leveled characters, akin to Mt. Olympus or even Sigil.
A lot of things are still in flux but I wanted to give you all a bit of an update on how this is progressing.
