I think it would be awesome to see large 8x10 inch tiles which could interlink to showcase one map when connected on one side and another map on the other side. Much like the packaging of the Paizo Pawns for the Bestiaries or AP's these could be used in conjunction with the flip-mats or act as additional maps for the Adventure Paths or Pathfinder Modules.
What do others think of this idea?

I'd like to see bigger tiles, like the ones produced by Rakham for its Cadwallon/Confrontation lines (they were called something like "reversible hybrid tiles"), massive 12" x 12" laminated card tiles.
As they were really modular, it was easy to assemble a few of them to build a sprawling city harbor/slum/noble quarter, a forest area, a sewer complex, and even some cave system or dungeon area. Kinda like geomorphs.
But they would also heavily interfere with flip mats and map packs, which I understand is not a good idea.

Me too. I like the flipmats and the concept of map packs. When I use the latter in play though, I often find them a bit of a hassle.

I feel that these tiles could alleviate the need to confine combats to a 24x36 grid and can spread it out over a larger area in scale and scene. I understand how these tiles could interfere with the market of flip-mats or map packs. With limited usage I feel they could escalate the stories that could be told for future Adventure Paths, Modules, and Pathfinder Society Specials.
