published adventures for other games

Other RPGs

One of the biggest reason I love Paizo is because of their adventures. I prefer to adapt published adventures; coming up with new content all the time makes the GM's burden much higher and I just don't have the time to do that.

It seems a lot of other games just publish rules without producing much in the way of adventure material. As far as I can tell, Edge of the Empire only has one adventure available, for example.

I'd like to try something new, but I'm simply not willing to learn another system to scratch if there isn't much adventure material written for it.

Any suggestions?

Uh... learn a game with adventure material written for it?

I'm specifically asking what other systems are out there with a lot of good adventure material written for it.

Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu has tons of official, third-party, and fan-produced content. Some older games like West End Games Star Wars (D6) have a bunch of stuff. Even older is Traveller, which has scads of stuff. I can't speak to new systems much. I've just begun buying into Savage Worlds and that has a good deal of adventure/campaign material if you like their settings. Hope it helps.

Shadow Lodge

Swords & Wizardry or other retro-clones
Trail of Cthulhu or other GUMSHOE systems
RuneQuest or other d100 systems
Warhammer 40K RPGs

Shadow Lodge

A few others that also came to mind....

FATE systems (Spirit of the Century, Dresden Files, and others). The new Fate Core System is seeing several projects cropping up, like Rite Publishing's Demolished Ones.

The new Firefly RPG has put out several adventures already, even before the core book has come out.

Traveller, for another sci-fi RPG with quite a bit of support.

I'd also like to add a comment about Swords & Wizardry. One of the benefits of such a simple system is that it's a relatively simple matter to convert pretty much any sword and sorcery type adventure to S&W. To the point where it can pretty much be done "on the fly" when you get fairly experience with the system. Plus, the S&W Complete Rulebook PDF is going to be given away free once Frog God Games reaches 400 backers for their current Kickstarter (although you can get the Core Rulebook, which doesn't have quite as many options, for free already).

In addition to the previous excellent suggestions, I'll add a few. Pendragon has both short and long adventures in most of its books, and also the GReat Pendragon Campaign of famously epic scope. Warhammer Fantasy, particularly the older editions, with The Enemy Within campaign having some of the best adventures ever written. Tunnels and Trolls has a pretty extensive collection of adventures, though it's better known for its solo books. The One Ring has a very nice adventure book in Tales from the Wilderland, and the ones in other books are also good. For sheer quantity it's hard to beat Traveller, of course.

Spycraft, which is a d20 Modern spinoff.

Also, on the subject of Savage Worlds:

Deadlands - Just be aware there's two variants, the original Deadlands RPG and the Deadlands campaign setting for Savage Worlds, each has a fair amount of adventures and other support material.

I'd add to this that classic/basic D&D or AD&D or any of their clones (S&W, LL, OSRIC, C&C, DD, etc.) have a huge number of mostly compatible adventures going back to the 70s. Of course, if you are looking for a different game to play, perhaps D&D of any flavor isn't different enough from Pathfinder to scratch the itch. I concur that D6 Star Wars had a lot of adventures. I recall the old DC Heroes game had a lot too.

This is definitely true. I've converted Pathfinder modules as I went - the time spent thinking on conversion issues comes back manyfold given the speed of combats.
