Largest dungeon in an AP

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

I just got my Dwarven Forge stuff in and after opening a couple sets, I think I may have got too many sets. Each set has roughly 200 squares worth of dungeon in it. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the biggest dungeon is in any Pathfinder AP is?

hm, i consider Scarwall (in CotCT) to be one of the bigger ones i can recall.

Scarwall - counting partial squares:

761 squares
63 doors
37 stairs (or elevated spaces)
19 pillars
Handful of other minor fixtures

Beyt al Bazan in Legacy of Fire is pretty darned big!

lower level The Crow and Jzadirune are mighty impressive.

The House of Withered Blossoms in Jade Regent is pretty huge.

Scarab Sages

I don't know if they're the largest, but Schloss Caromarc and Harrowstone both room in the dozens over 3-4 floors

(Trial of the Beast and Haunting of Harrowstone, respectively)

Baba Yaga's Hut, that place is huge!

I will put in another vote for Bayt Al Bazan in Legacy Of Fire, although The Crow in Shattered Star was damn huge too.

Grand Lodge

Considering that Shattered Star is MOSTLY dungeon I would say that Shattered Star AP in general has very large dungeons. In book 4 there are 3 dungeons that have a 10' per square requirement which doubles the size of the drawings themselves. Not to mention that there are 3 levels total. As mentioned above the Crow is pretty large too.

Shattered star is probably the largest set of dungeons overall though.

Liberty's Edge

I can't really speak for other APs (and I am sure there are probably others larger) but Citadel Drezen from Wrath of the Righteous: Sword of Valor is pretty damn big.

It's only the last two parts of an adventure, though, while other APs have entire adventures that include nearly nothing except for the dungeon, so they are much larger.

The contenders are certainly Scarwall, the 2 dungeons from Legacy of Fire (#2 and #5) and any of the Shattered Star adventures (except for #3 which is a collection of smaller dungeons)

Bayt al Basan is big, and so is the house of the beast, especially if you add the setpiece chapters for both. Taken together, I'd say LoF has the most unapologetic dungeons in it.

The new version of Runeforge in the Runelords anniversary edition is bound to be up there.

I'd suppose what you're after really depends on whether you want to assemble an entire multi-level dungeon all at once, or you simply refer to the biggest single map in squares.

Anniversary Runeforge, for example, is huge in total but is spread over several disparate maps.

The giant Legacy of Fire dungeons are all multiple dungeon levels.

And so forth.

But Ryric... tis not a proper dungeon if it doesn't span at least three levels!

If the question were "what's the biggest dungeon level, then I think maybe Irovetti's castle from Kingmaker five. But ... that would be a silly one to run for its dungeonesse.

Baba Yaga's Hut!!! 4 levels in separate adventures plus another 4-5 levels in the last book.
