Seeking Barbarian Solo Resources

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I am working on a solo campaign for my wife who is playing a level 1 Barbarian with aspirations of becoming a Mammoth Lord. I have "Called to Darkness" by Richard Lee Byers, People of the North, ISWG and Keep of the Huscarl King Scenario. I mostly need to come up with low-level challenges a single non-magic, non-rogue player can survive to level up a bit. Yes, I've heard of Gestalts, but my wife wants "Barbarian" and not "Barbarian/ Cleric". She will have NPC companions that may accompany her at various points of her travels. But the story is about her character, and I need resources to form challenges geared towards that character.

Someone suggested the "Temple of Kord" as a resource, except I can't find anything particularly helpful as a resource. Other ideas?

Hey Romaq

I've run my girlfriend through "The forgotten hills" in the One on One Adventures Compendium by Expeditious Retreat. Its an adventure for levels 5-7 and comes with a Barbarian and Ranger pre-gen to pick from.

Its a good product. There are alot of rouge type adventures of course but this one is definitely not.

I recommend checking out the whole line. Ive converted most of the adventures to my girlfriend's PC with to much worry.

- Adventure #6.66: The Pleasure Prison of the B’thuvian Demon Whore (from the One on One Adventures Compendium) Was the best time my girlfriend and I have had as a solo game. Despite the name its not that bad the and pre-gen Krunk the Barbarian, is as bad a$$ as they come. This is a true and true Barbarian adventure, something exactly like Conan would get himself involved in.

Thank you. It will be much better once we get things going. A project in motion staying in motion. Neither of us knows what her character will decide to do until we get into it, and having an entire world of open possibilities makes it hard to decide on ANYTHING. :)

Another one that comes to mind is the Northlands Saga 1: Vengeance of the Long Serpent BY Frog God Games.

Its a through and through viking adventure but has a ton of workable content for adventuring in the North.

I only have the first of four of the Northlands Saga but its a quality product for sure.

I will check that out also. I currently have RP set up where the good guys and the bad guys are looking for a woman from Tian Xia with a ferret. NOT some Kellid. Except a character like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast who thinks this particular Kellid will do just fine to cook, clean and raise kids for him. I have what I think will be interesting story potential, and I've put together a selection of monsters that are lower CR but would logically be within the area. Hopefully the content you pointed me to will help fill out physical traps and physical puzzles where she can get XP while having a break from the heavy RP stuff or just beating on things. She might prefer, actually, just beating on stuff, but I want to have options to break monotony.
