Advice on making an Assassin Rogue for Kingmaker?

Kingmaker

Hey all, I'm about to start a game on Skype with some really good friends of mine and they chose to do Kingmaker.

I haven't really played a ton of Pathfinder and what I have played has been as a Fighter, but one of my friends wanted to roll that this time so I figured I'd step outside my wheelhouse a bit.

Our party is just the three of us:

A Shield and Sword Dwarf Fighter with ambitions of making a new Dwarf Kingdom

A full on, Gandalf-styled Wizard (GM's character, he's great at keeping his stuff on the level with us :) )

And me, the Tengu Rogue whose specialty is assassinations and softening up hard targets for the Dwarf to look good when he slays them.

Or that's the concept anyways. My problem is I have no idea how to build this guy! I know I should probably be focusing on Dex what with my 18 after racials, but beyond that I have no idea where to put his feats and how to actually play him.

fake edit: I should probably specify that I'm looking more for Fun for our group than me being super powered. Our Dwarf player loves being the big damn hero and our Wizard GM has never done an Arcane caster and wants to be larger than life. My idea of fun would be making sure that they both get to do their thing while I do the "dirty work" so to speak.

So I'm asking for advice on this. Anyone got any tips?

Anyone able to help me? I'm kind of coming up on our scheduled date.

What attribute generation method?

You can always find build advice on the advice forums for sure.

The swordmaster tengu archetype from the Adv. Race Guide isn't bad - and there are a LOT of swords in this AP, and few traps

Dex>Con>Wis>Cha>Str>Int

You look to be the eyes and face of the party - don't skimp on diplomacy, sense motive, acrobatics, climb, swim, perception, stealth. Disable device can be just average, or low. Also make full advantage of the tengu linguist ability - take Giant, Sylvan, Hallit and Draconic at some point at least.

Feats Needed: Weapon Finesse at a minimum. At higher level Two Weapon Fighting and critical feats. Gang Up is also nice.

The Aldori sword lord campaign trait would be useful - extra to-hit with longswords/dueling swords to offset your low BAB.

The tricky thing with a rogue is getting sneak attack. There are numerous ways;
1. Goz mask (Inner Sea World Guide + Eversmoking Bottle) - Make smoke, see through smoke with mask, be hidden. Blinds party, too.
2. Eldritch Heritage (Fey) from Ultimate Magic - 3 feats, need min Cha 15, eventually greater invis as spell-like from Fleeting Glance ability
3. You could skip swordmaster and instead play a ninja, use vanish frequently
4. Take Hellcat's Stealth Feat (Cheliax book) and 1 level of Shadowdancer - feat intensive, but by level 7 hide in plain sight for both light -and- darkness. Needs combat reflexes, dodge, mobility for Shadowdancer, and also the feats Skill Focus( Stealth), a pre-req for Hellcat's Stealth feat.
5. Improved Feint - hard to pull off bluff checks, I would avoid
6. Have a high Use Magic Device and buy a wand of greater invisibility.
7. rogue archetype: scout
8. Feats: Quick Draw + Persuasive ->Betrayer (Ultimate Combat) - first attack only
9. Skip swordmaster, go Thug or Bandit archetype + Weapon Focus + Dazzling Display + Shatter Defenses

I would advoid the actual Assassin prestige class
