Hello, my name is MetaphoricDragon, and I can't seem to break from Chaotic Neutral.
Intros aside, at the urging of some friends, and some nostalgia to my Living Greyhawk days, I've been convinced to join Pathfinder Society. I decided on a Dwarf Cleric of Torag, and I'm one game in so far, but I'm not sure where I'm taking this character, and I would like some advise,
I chose Dwarf, because hey, I like 'em, I chose Cleric because I'd been watchign way too much Transformers Prime and was inspired by Ratchet, with a dash of Star Trek's Dr. McCoy.
Stat wise, If people want to know is:
STR: 14
DEX: 10
CON: 16
INT: 10
WIS: 16
CHA: 12
My first problem has been personality, as I mentioned above, Chaotic Neutral has always been my bread and butter, so I have a real hard time settling into Neutral Good. The backstory in my head was to have a veteran Soldier and field medic that was healed after being down and out due to a bad accident, and found himself blessed with fledgling divine power (he doesn't no why and doesn't plan on asking) He is still Curmudgeony, but I'm hard pressed to break Chaotic.
I'm also not sure what role I want him to be. My last long term D&D game, I played a bard, I had a blast out of combat, but in combat I was bored to tears. So I want something definitely more proactive than buff bot, but I'm also constantly worried about running out of spells mid module, so I hold them until it is too late. I'm not quite sure if I want t go a full warrior-priest either, I'm not quite sure how that pans out, but I don't want to sacrifice support either given where I drew inspiration from.
So, I'm open to any advice people can offer so I can find this character a niche that will be fun for me.

Maybe you should increase strength and charisma a bit (at the expense of wisdom). Role-playing wise, that would mesh well with a dwarf who was previously an officer in some sort of medical corps; and who does not fully understand his newly awakened spiritual powers. With the lower wisdom, you can steal use buff spells aplenty (as you don't have to worry about low save DCs). With the higher strength and charisma, you could be solid in melee, maybe pick up channel smite and alignment channel feats.
Stretching the concept a bit, you could shift from Torag to Gorum. This would allow you to play the CN alignment you seem to like so much. It also allows you to pick up the versatile channel feat so that you can channel positive and negative energy. Channeling negative energy through your melee attacks (via channel smite) will let you pack a pretty good punch in melee. From a role-playing standpoint, maybe Gorum came to your character during his near death experience to draw you away from Torag for some greater purpose of destruction.

Chaotic Neutral to Neutral Good is a pretty big jump when you're so used to playing one alignment and aren't especially sure about the new one.
Try True Neutral or Chaotic Good instead to give you some leeway.
It's much easier to try and be "more lawful" or "more good" than to be "not quite lawful but not quite chaotic, and good as well"
