Silver Crusade

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So I've been toying with the idea of updating CoG to Pathfinder and since we now have materials to supports such characters I figured I'd post what I have.

REQUIREMENTS

Alignment: Chaotic Good

BAB: +6

Skills: Intimidate 6 ranks

Feats: Righteous Wrath, Divine Obedience (I removed Knight of the Stars because 1. there is no Eladrin or Court of the Stars* in Golarion 2. Although nice flavor text, a +1 to one roll a day is in my opinion too weak for a feat. Although I don't suppose it would hurt to let them take the Heavenly Virtue feat in its place.

*although it wouldn't be too hard I suppose to recolor the Court of Stars as belonging to Desna and/or restatting Gwyn as an Azata Empyreal Lord.

SKILLS

The Champion of Gwynharwyf class skills are Acrobatics (Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Handle Animal (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (nature) (Int), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Perception (Wis), Ride (Dex), Survival (Wis), and Swim (Str).

Skill Ranks per Level: 4 + Int modifier.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Champions of Gwynharwyf gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.

Divine Bond (Sp): At 1st level, a CoG forms a divine bond with her patron.
The bond allows the CoG to enhance her weapon as a standard action by calling upon the aid of a celestial spirit for 1 minute per CoG level. When called, the spirit causes a held weapon to shed light as a torch. At 1st level, this spirit grants the weapon a +1 enhancement bonus. At 5th and again at 10th, the weapon gains another +1 enhancement bonus, to a maximum of +3 at 20th level. These bonuses can be added to the weapon, stacking with existing weapon bonuses to a maximum of +5, or they can be used to add any of the following weapon properties: Anarchic, vicious, disruption, Fervent, Heretical, holy, keen, merciful, and speed. Adding these properties consumes an amount of bonus equal to the property’s cost. These bonuses are added to any properties the weapon already has, but duplicate abilities do not stack. If the weapon is not magical, at least a +1 enhancement bonus must be added before any other properties can be added. The bonus and properties granted by the spirit are determined when the spirit is called and cannot be changed until the spirit is called again. The celestial spirit imparts no bonuses if the weapon is held by anyone other than the CoG but resumes giving bonuses if returned to the CoG. These bonuses apply to only one end of a double weapon. A CoG can use this ability once per day at 1st level, and one additional time per day at 5th and 10th level.
If a weapon bonded with a celestial spirit is destroyed, the CoG loses the use of this ability for 30 days, or until she gains a level, whichever comes first. During this 30- day period, the CoG takes a –1 penalty on attack and weapon damage rolls.

Rage (Ex): A champion of Gwynharwyf adds her class levels to her barbarian levels to determine how often she can rage and when she gains the greater rage, tireless rage, and mighty rage bar- barian class abilities. She does not gain or improve any other barbarian class abilities.

Smite Evil (Su): Once per day, a CoG can call out to the powers of good to aid her in her struggle against evil. As a swift action, the CoG chooses one target within sight to smite. If this target is evil, the CoG adds her Charisma bonus (if any) to her attack rolls and adds her CoG level to all damage rolls made against the target of her smite. If the target of smite evil is an outsider wit the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per level the CoG possesses. Regardless of the target, smite evil attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess.
In addition, while smite evil is in effect, the CoG gains a deflection bonus equal to her Charisma modifier (if any) to her AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. If the CoG targets a creature that is not evil, the smite is wasted with no effect.
The smite evil effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time the CoG rests and regains her uses of this ability. A 5th-level champion of Gwynharwyf can smite evil twice per day. At 9th level, she can use this ability three times per day.

Spells: A champion of Gwynharwyf has the ability to cast a small number of divine spells. To cast a champion of Gwynharwyf spell, the champion must have a Wisdom score of at least 10+ the spell’s level, so a champion of Gwynharwyf with a Wisdom of 10 or lower cannot cast these spells. Champion of Gwynharwyf bonus spells are based on Wisdom, and saving throws against these spells have a DC of 10 + spell level + the champion’s Wisdom modifier. When the champion gets 0 spells of a given spell level (for instance, 1st-level spells for a 1st level champion of Gwynharwyf), she gets only the bonus spells she would be entitled to based on her Wisdom score for that spell level. A champion of Gwynharwyf prepares and casts spells just as a cleric does

Divine Grace (Su): A 2nd-level champion of Gwynharwyf gains a bonus equal to her Charisma bonus on all saving throws.

Furious Casting (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a champion of Gwynharwyf can cast her champion spells even while raging. If she has another spellcasting class, she cannot cast spells from that class while raging, only the spells that she gains from her champion levels.

Damage Reduction (Ex): Starting at 3rd level, a champion of Gwynharwyf gains the ability to shrug off some amount of injury from each blow or attack. Subtract 2 from the damage the champion takes each time she is dealt damage from a weapon or natural attack. At 6th level, and every 2 levels thereafter, this damage reduction rises by 1 point. Damage reduction can reduce damage to 0 but not below 0. This stacks with the Barbarian's Damage Reduction.

ResistEnchantment(Su): At 3rd level, a Champion of Gwynharwyf gains a +2 morale bonus on all saving throws against Enchantment spells or effects.

Fearsome Fury (Su): At 4th level, a champion of Gwynharwyf can strike terror into the hearts of her foes while she rages. When she enters a rage, she makes an Intimidate check. Any enemy that comes within 30 feet of her while she is raging must make a Will save against a DC equal to her Intimidate check result. Those who fail become shaken for 1d4+1 rounds or the duration of the rage, whichever is longer.

Aura of Courage (Su): At 4th level, a CoG is immune to fear (magical or otherwise). Each ally within 10 feet of her gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against fear effects. This ability functions only while the CoG is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead.

Aura of Resolve (Su): At 7th level, a CoG is immune to charm spells and spell-like abilities. Each ally within 10 feet of her gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against charm effects. This ability functions only while the CoG is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead.

Aura of Justice (Su): At 10th level, a CoG can expend two uses of her smite evil ability to grant the ability to smite evil to all allies within 10 feet, using her bonuses. Allies must use this smite evil ability by the start of the CoG's next turn and the bonuses last for 1 minute. Using this ability is a free action. Evil creatures gain no benefit from this ability.

Silver Crusade

I wholeheartedly support this endeavor. :)

Quick question: I can't remember precisely, but was the original CoG's damage reduction DR/- or DR/evil?

(this enables so many of my barbarian concepts it isn't even funny ;) )

Offhand, I can't find a CG Empyreal Lord who quite matches Gwyn, even in the barely-detailed lists. Seems like all the combat-heavy types are on the LG side. This annoys me a little.

Either me or Mikaze will put that up after awhile.

For the 1 hour Obediance I was thinking of something like "either practice alone or spar in a way they comes off as rhythmic and musical to the ears for the duration"
