I have on my person, a boon that allows me to send out a scouting force in lieu of a day job, this netting me a reward of x, xx, or xxx for 2,4,6 points.
If I use this once, is this repeatable should I not use the second half of said boon? I understand it fully now, more so than earlier today, which lead to some confusion, but any clarification for it's continued use would be delightful.

It's Expedition Manager, right? If you search the forums for "expedition manager", you should find a thread in which Mike Brock confirmed that the item acquisition part of the boon is reusable.
Just remember, though, that you spend the PP when you do your day job, and then don't get the item until your next day job.
