So I'm working on a project that revolves around caravans and use of the caravan system presented in jade regent and expanded on by LPJ with their trade routes expansion and I was looking to add more options for players willing to invest. Now I'm wondering if anyone can look at some of these new rules and see if they are balanced or spot any game breaking issue they might present as well as any suggestions they might have from their home games.
First I'm looking into adding more hiring options for players to their caravan. Players may hire commoners at 1/2 the normal cost of warriors or experts. Aristocrats may be hired at double the normal cost for whatever position they are hired for. The grant an additional +1 circumstance bonus to any resolve checks or morale check they are apart of. They may never fill the role of prostitute. Aristocrats killed during duty may create impose penalties on the caravan. Adepts may be hired for 150 gp and fill the role of spellcaster, healer, or fortune teller. As a fortune teller they only provide the ability to prevent penalties and none of the other abilities unless they are 5th level or higher.
So what do people think?
