Burnt Offerings - How long until things are set in motion? [SPOILERS!]

How long do you think should it take the Thistletop goblins, Nualia and the gang to mount the final attack on Sandpoint, starting on the day of the first assault?

I am pretty sure it doesn't say so explicitly in the Anniversary Edition. It does say however that the overall pacing of the campaign should be rather moderate. Now my group got struck badly by Erylium's poison (twice, actually) and will need a couple of days to recuperate.

How long do you think they have? And how long until Sheriff Hemlock returns from Magnimar?

give them 24 hours and to show them you're serious, knock it down to 12:)

all kidding aside, as much time as you or they need its not set on a particular timer or anything

It can take a lot of time (like, days or even weeks) to get trained professional soldiers organised for an attack like that... and the Thistletop tribe are Golarion goblins, who make cats look as squared-away as US Marines.
Frankly, the answer to both your questions is ‘as long as the GM needs it to be’. :S
More substantially, if they’ve sorted out the Catacombs of Wrath as your original post implies, I’d say you give them a week or so to heal, plan, and kit-up. If they haven’t made their move by then, give them a subtle hint. Did Tsuto get away? Maybe he tries to kidnap/kill Ameiko again. Or perhaps a party of goblins burns an outlying farm as a ‘practice run’ for raiding Sandpoint, and the survivors blame the PCs for not dealing with them sooner.

Very good ideas to let the PCs and players feel pressure at some point and impress to them that they are on a timer. My question was however more directed towards what you think would be a reasonable amount to assume for the invasion preparations. But you also answered that very convincingly, thanks!

Yeah, it really depends on Nualia and whoever is around to advise her. See she wants Mal out as a priority. But she is stuck, so she's bound to keep trying for a while, but it's really up to the GM how long.

If Tsuto is out of the picture, it will probably be longer rather than shorter. Remember, she didn't go get the bones to burn. Tsuto did, eaver to both hurt Sandpoint and score points with Nualia.

Another possible angle is Gromgurt (sp? Druid goblin). He might start to sway Ripnugget back to his way of thinking if Nualia tarries too long.

It's taken her five years to get this far, and she's suffered a setback...

Seriously, it should take exactly as long as you need it to. Magnimar isn't very far away and our PC's sent a rider to tell the Sheriff what had happened immediately after clearing out the Glassworks and finding Ameiko's father. It wasn't until the next day that we began exploring the catacombs and the Sheriff arrived before we emerged.

I'm thinking that if the PCs are reasonably active, they ought to get to Thistletop before Nualia frees whats-his-name. If they laze around and wait for plot hooks to come to them -- well, it gets to be a big big battle of a plothook. More goblins, Nualia gains a level, the barghest is loose...

As it turns out my players felt the pressure to go the Thistletop ASAP without me doing anything. Tsuto's journal alone was enough for them to rest up 2 more days and get going.

Thanks for your advice!
