Hello all-
I have been looking for a list of all Pathfinder Society Boons available. Is there such a list out there? I am curious as to what they are and how to achieve them. I know many are limited and or convention exclusive, but I still want to know. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

Hello all-

Having just started looking at Pathfinder Society myself, I am really confused about boons. I haven't been able to find any answers to what they are (beyond a minor reward of some sort), how they are earned (except maybe through conventions?), and what they can do (other then allow people to play additional races). Maybe they give a tutorial at conventions for newbie society players like myself or it is somewhere in the back of the society guide book.
Either way, some clarification from a Pathfinder Society veteran would be much appreciated.

Boons are chronicle sheets that grant bonuses to a character the player chooses to apply the chronicle sheet to.
For example a race boon would be applied to a character number by a player in order for the player to create a character of that special race.
They're are many different type of boons out there that add different mechanical bonuses.
You get them by playing PFS games at conventions and then getting lucky on die roll or other randomization feature to win one. For example: Origins gave you a slip of paper each slot for a chance to pull a die out of a bag, pulling the correct die would win you a random boon or other item. As such you are not guaranteed to win a boon by going to a convention. (I mention that because some people make it sound like going to the convention will get you an automatic boon which isn't always the case.)
Some conventions give GMs boons for running game slots without the need for them to win.

It's not just conventions, but it does tend to be the more organized events (since this is organized play, after all).
There are also holiday boons, which cover in-game holidays that correspond to real-world events. These are very minor but often a lot of fun*; you will find on the Paizo Blog from time to time and they can only be applied during a brief (usually 3-week) window.
There isn't an official list because they come and go--holiday boons have only been one-offs so far, and con boons get introduced and phased out every GenCon. They also like to maintain an air of mystery. I suspect it's so they can re-introduce old ones and make them look new ... or at least that's how I'd do it. ;)
There actually is a section in the new Guide that's releasing next week about boons. But basically, from a newcomer's perspective, I wouldn't worry about them right now--you'll wind up coming across them in time, and they're a nice bonus, but nothing you have to have.
* Zon-zon doll, amirite?

There is another source of some boons:
Pathfinder Tales.
If you go to the Additional Resources page, on the right, you will see a list of the various Pathfinder Tales novels with a link to download a zip file containing a PDF document.
Having a printout of that document, and a copy of the Pathfinder Tale of the same name, will give you a minor boon for one of your PCs. Some of them also give special item access. The PDF gives the instructions, and they are also in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play in the section entitled, appropriately enough, Pathfinder Tales.

What are the non-item stuff on a normal chronicle sheet called?
Also boons ;-)
The difference is that the above posters are talking about chronicle sheets with nothing *but* a boon on them. So there's "boon" meaning the mechanical bonus you get on a Chronicle sheet that isn't an item, and there's "boon" meaning a sheet that you can earn at conventions and so forth that only contains a boon.
