PFS Beginner-confusion on how to handle rebuild

Pathfinder Society

I've completed all the first steps online via PbP and now would like to rebuild the character. What do I have to do?

1. I build a level 2 char with roughly 1350 GP (1200 something from the adventures plus 150 starting gold)
2. I register the char here on the paizo site under the same Pathfinder ID No.
3. Once I join a new game here on the boards I need the GM to look over the sheet and say: You're good move on.

Anything I'm missing?

Just make sure everything you choose (feats, traits, items, spells, etc.) is legal. All the items you've bought so far with gold (other than partially consumed items such as wands) can be fully refunded, so that Leather Armor you've been sporting can be sold at 100% of its original purchase price and that gold can be put towards the armor you really want. You can even change your name and faction. Only your ID# remains the same.

Basically, just make a level 2 character from scratch if you want.

Make sure to account for any consumables you've used. Used Potions of CLW, alchemical fires, etc cannot be refunded. And if you bought anything with prestige, its yours.

Kool thanks folks!

Heya Folks. I have a technical issue with the Paizo boards which relates to my above question.

Is there anyway I can create a new PFS alias on these boards which uses the same PFS number as an existing alias?

Alternatively is there a way to change the name of a message board alias with more than 20 (or whatever the number) posts?

If neither of these is possible you can't really do your permitted level 2 rebuild while also changing a chars name.

As long as you didn't make 10 posts with the character

right click on pathfinder society and click "open in new tab" so you can see these instructions while you're changing the name.

Click "my pathfinder society"

Sign in because its a sensitive area.

Click edit next to the character

Change the character name field up top

Scroll down and click the submit changes button.

So it can't be changed online...but you can change your character sheet and your scenario reporting sheet you fill out to the character's actual name. As long as everything else online is correct, no biggie.

On Paizo.com there is no way to change the name of a registered character/alias that you've posted with more than 10 times.

Here is what you *could* do. I did this with a character who was playing Confirmation PbP for her first Chronicle, but who I changed my mind about her build before finishing the game.

Because we are talking about *three* Chronicles, it is probably technically against the rules, but since these are *all* the character's chronicles, because it is still legal for you to make a complete rebuild, and because you are not splitting any of them up but *only* trying to fix the technical limitation on the name change, this passes my personal sniff test.

Assuming that your original character is -1.

Create a character that is -2, with the name you want the character to have.
Tell the GM that you gave him the wrong character number and ask him to reassign all the chronicles to character -2.
Consider character -1 a dead character, or make a new character with that name.

If you had different GMs for these games this is probably going to be too much work to keep everything straight, because if you cannot get *all* of them reassigned, then you would end up with an illegal result.

Are you saying you have played First Steps Parts 1,2,3? Both parts 2 and 3 were retired as of August 15th of last year. So if you have played them since then, they do not count toward your character's advancement...

Sorry.
